Hello whimsical ones, I\u2019m Alex Merri (at least I try to be) from The Bijou Bride- fashion stylist\/ wedding planner\/ image consultant\/ personal shopper\/ avid fashion fan\/ trend scavenger\/ bargain addict and ultimately wedding lover with a big sweet tooth.<\/p>\n

{w} What do you love\/dislike about your job?<\/strong><\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

Ultimately I love meeting people and be part of turning their wedding dreams into reality. When working with my client\u2019s I aim to be their wedding best friend, someone they can rely on for expert advice, confide their wedding worries in, provide honest opinion and be there whenever needed.<\/p>\n

{w} How did you get into your business and into the wedding industry?<\/strong><\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

I have a big 3-0 birthday looming this year and decided it was now or never to take a leap and start The Bijou Bride. I am lucky to have a really fantastic group of friends who have given me the encouragement and support I needed (you know who you are). Wedding magazines can be overwhelming, you can easily lose site of your personal style and stray into wedding attire that wears you rather than the other way around. My aim with the blog is to give brides (and occasionally grooms) inspiration whether that be from upcoming mainstream fashion trends, music videos, real life weddings or celebrity styles as well as sharing some expert insight.<\/p>\n

The services side of The Bijou Bride was a natural progression from my background in organising movie premieres and corporate events but I never take anything lightly (plus I love certificates) so I waited to complete my International Wedding Planning course before I set up the site. It\u2019s so thrilling to know be working with fantastic clients whose wedding\u2019s couldn\u2019t be more different.<\/p>\n

{w} What do you aim to achieve for your clients?<\/strong><\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

A wedding day, look or engagement shoot that is infused with my client\u2019s personality – is effortless, fun and unforgettable.<\/p>\n

{w} What style is your work? <\/strong><\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

I don\u2019t push my personal style onto anyone but rather aim to bring out theirs. We all have a unique style, even if we don\u2019t know it – mine\u2019s an addiction to black opaque tights and edgy heels.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

{w} Could you tell us some information about your packages\/prices?<\/strong><\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

I wanted to make sure my services were accessible to every bride and every budget, as well as planning\/styling packages I wanted to offer a Bijou On Demand hourly rate (\u00a335) that can be spent on whatever a bride\u2019s (or groom\u2019s) heart desires – whether it\u2019s joining them at a dress fitting, designing a theme for the day, a home visit to try out make-up looks truly anything they need help with.<\/p>\n

The other unique Bijou service is The Shopping Queen (from \u00a3100), for couples that have already arranged the big things i.e. venue, caterer, flowers but are running out of time (and energy) for the small things such as favors and decor. I\u2019ll take their outstanding wedding day shopping list and hunt down a variety of suppliers and solutions to suit their budget, even provide DIY ideas if required.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

{w} Do you have any tips for couples in selecting wedding look?<\/strong><\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

My advice as an image consultant to brides would be:<\/p>\n

1. Be open to trying on lots of styles and shades of dress.
\n2. If you hear yourself saying \u2018I love it… but\u2019 then it isn\u2019t the dress for you.
\n3. Have you hair and make-up done, take your shoes and underwear to your final fitting to get a true picture of how you will look and feel on the day (and change anything while you still have time).<\/p>\n
