I so love it when a couple inject their personalities into their nuptials. And you know what? This pair are not only super stylish but just head over heels in love and it shines through in these wonderful images today.<\/p>\n

James and Sam chose to marry on the 5th September 2015 at Hangleton Manor<\/a> in East Sussex. A delightful country pub setting which was the perfect backdrop for their rustic masculine vision.<\/p>\n

Now let’s talk about those dashing suits. James and Sam headed to A Suit That Fits for their bespoke suits and wore lily buttonholes which coordinated with the rest of the pretty blooms. I adore the graphic stationery, hessian table runners and log centrepieces. Stunning.<\/p>\n

THE PROPOSAL | At a family BBQ in South London, May 2014, James proposed to Sam after a poignant conversation and Sam said yes. There was no ring but none was needed. Wedding planning started the next day.<\/p>\n

THE VISION | Both being male, we wanted something that was Masculine, simple and rustic. We wanted something that was simple but had gestures and reflections of us as a couple and the journey to the point when we were married. We wanted to share our day with our close family and friends and the key for us was to have everyone smile and laugh.<\/p>\n

THE PLANNING PROCESS | The process was fairly simple and pain free, we both had in mind what we wanted and the final picture. James was excellent at sourcing everything and Sam putting it all together. James kept a careful eye on the budget while Sam pieced bits together. The hardest part was drawing up the guest list; we had 60 day guests in which we had to be ruthless. If we can give one piece of advice to another couple is be brutal and invite who you want to share your day.<\/p>\n

BUDGET | We aren\u2019t a couple to really discuss money but feel it\u2019s important to let people know what they are in for when planning a wedding. Well\u2026 as expected we went over, we originally planned for \u00a36000 soon realised that this was a unrealistic and planned for ten. However the finally figured did go a little over by a couple\u2026<\/p>\n

THE VENUE | The venue was stunning; it was the first thing we booked which was soon after the proposal. We choose Hangleton Manor in Hove; it was the first place we looked and the last. We loved the rustic appeal and atmosphere on the building and it was a pub! From the outset, working with Nikki was brilliant. Nikki was attentive and made sure our day was everything we wanted it to be, we owe a lot to her. The food was excellent, the staff were brilliant and everything went to plan. Well, other than the Harry Potter\u2019esk welcome sign \ud83d\ude09<\/p>\n

FINDING THE SUITS | We decided quite quickly that we would have custom suits as these were suits we would wear once and more importantly we wanted something bespoke that made us look good and feel special. We used a \u2018Suit That Fits\u2019, a tailor in London. A great service that we would both recommend and both really pleased with the garments. We had two fittings before picking up the final suits, neither groom saw each other suits until the day.<\/p>\n

GROOM\u2019S ATTIRE | James wore a charcoal mohair grey slim fitting three piece suit with an aubergine tie and waistcoat back. He had a white pocket square with brown shoes and blue laces, and must not forget his dads \u2018Groom\u2019 socks. He looked stunning and made Sam feel very lucky to soon have him as his husband.<\/p>\n

Sam wore a dark blue tweed affect wool three piece suit with black shoes. He wore a burgundy tie, a burgundy pocket square and had a waistcoat back to match. Sam wore stripy red and blue socks, a statement or mistake? Well, they made our guests laugh \ud83d\ude09<\/p>\n

We both had white shirts with our initials on our cuffs and our wedding information embroidered on the inside pocket of our jackets.<\/p>\n

THE READINGS & MUSIC | We had only one reading during the ceremony, our niece Maddie read \u2018You Can Be Anything\u2019 by Gary Craig. We choose songs that had poignant meaning for the ceremony, we walked into \u2018Ho Hey\u2019 by The Lumineers, we had played \u2018One Day Like This\u2019 by Elbow and walked out to \u2018Feel The Love\u2019 by Rudimental. All three songs are important to us.<\/p>\n

BEAUTIFUL BRIDESMAIDS | The bridesmaids wore baby blue dresses with white polka dots and royal blue shoes. We had two adult brides, James sister and Sam\u2019s best friend. We also had our niece and a family friend. They all looked stunning and did us both proud.<\/p>\n

THE FLOWERS | The flowers were simple; we didn\u2019t go over the top and wanted minimal. We had Calla Lilies for button holes, ornamental lilies for the bridesmaids and lilies on the tables. Each was completed with simple greenery.<\/p>\n

THE CAKE | The cake was fantastic and complemented our rustic theme. We were recommended Melody at Treacle and Co by a close family and we weren\u2019t disappointed. We had a two tiered cake, the bottom tier was Espresso and Whisky and the top Carrot Cake. The cake was frosted with a cream cheese icing and topped with two pine cones wearing top hats. Each tier was decorated with a ring of raffia and blackberries and the cake sat on a tree trunk slice. By the end of the wedding there was no cake left!<\/p>\n

YOUR PHOTOGRAPHER | Neil was our photographer and was brilliant. He captured our wedding using natural and un-staged shots, just the effect we wanted. Neil\u2019s portfolio was the first and last we looked at, we loved his style and creativity and wanted the same for our wedding. We gave Neil free reign for our wedding (other than the mountain of group shots) and he delivered a set of prints that captured our day perfectly.<\/p>\n

THE DETAILS & D\u00c9COR | Our theme flowed through the whole of the wedding. We choose a rustic, simple and masculine theme and this was reflected throughout; from invitations to table centres. We had hessian table runners, bottles of Clemencello and jars of home made fudge for favours, and hand written name cards. For the table centres we had wooden tree trunk slices topped with jam jars with floating candles, milk bottles containing a single lily and an easel with a table name plate; each plate was a name of a Pub in Brighton\/Hove where an important event took place; for example meeting Sam\u2019s soon to be in-laws. All of this complemented the rustic appeal of Hangleton Manor.<\/p>\n

THE HONEYMOON | We left on the Monday after we were married to fly to Paris. Feeling very spoilt after two nights in two different hotels we caught the plane to Paris. We spent three days in Paris soaking up the sights, sounds and culture of the vibrant city. On the Wednesday evening we caught the sleeper train down to the South of France where we awoke in Nice Thursday morning. We spent two nights in Villefranche in a little hotel with a picturesque view over the bay and our final night on a no expenses spared yacht experience in Antibes courtesy of a very generous boss. Refreshed and happily relaxed we flew home to cold wet England.<\/p>\n

MEMORABLE MOMENTS | For Sam it was when James said I do but not to be too slushy, a moment that sticks in Sam\u2019s head is the embarrassing baby photos on the projector during Auntie Sue\u2019s speech! James\u2019s memorable moment was when we walked out of the venue as a married couple to get showered in confetti by our friends and family.<\/p>\n

ADVICE FOR OTHER COUPLES | Go for it! It\u2019s your special day, don\u2019t spare any expense (within reason), laugh, smile and enjoy your family and friends. Oh, and you won\u2019t remember a lot so take a moment between just the two of you to take stock and reflect, you won\u2019t get many opportunities on the day.<\/p>\n
