The perfect way to begin a Friday, with a cute as a button wedding and a gorgeous pair of newly-weds. YAY.<\/p>\n

WWW readers Sarah and Jonny were married on the 31st July 2015 in Oxford. They held their ceremony at Rhodes House and punted to their marquee reception at Cherwell Boathouse<\/a>. It was important to them that their day was a reflection of the city with a modern feel. They chose the colours yellow and grey and ran with them. It all looked so awesome. There were reams of bunting, letter lights and chevron table runners to name a few.<\/p>\n

Now let’s get to the stunning attire shall we? Sarah wore a sweet Candy Anthony<\/a> gown with yellow petticoat, Lady Dragon heels and a vintage hair do, Jonny meanwhile wore chinos and a tweed jacket from M&S and a colour popping bow tie.<\/p>\n

THE PROPOSAL | Jonny\u2019s original proposal plan involved taking me to our favourite beach in Cornwall, \u2018Daymer Bay\u2019, but unfortunately the stormy weather that New Year scuppered his plans. So, we arrived back in Oxfordshire and began to organise ourselves for going back to work by doing the washing, cleaning out the kitchen cupboards, changing the bedding and cooking the first healthy meal of the New Year. While all of this \u2018exciting\u2019 action was going on, Jonny had planted a present under the tree; I must have walked past it at least 50 times. When we eventually sat down, Jonny suggested that we start to take the tree down, I did not really want to as it really would have been the end of the holidays. Boo. After a few more clues, I eventually succumbed to the inevitable task, looked under the tree and found the \u2018gift\u2019. I opened the box; Jonny got down on one knee and asked me the question. I cried like a baby and of course, I said \u2018YES\u2019! EEEEKKKKK!<\/p>\n

THE VISION | We picked the colour scheme first, after spending many hours on Pinterest, \u2018Yellow and grey\u2019, a beautifully modern combination. As many of our friends had planned gorgeous weddings in various fabulous locations, we knew we wanted to take a different approach to our wedding. We decided on a city wedding in two separate locations, so that our guests could see as much of Oxford as possible. We wanted them all to fall in love with it, just as we have.<\/p>\n

THE PLANNING PROCESS | This was a very smooth process and everything just seemed to slot together perfectly. Jonny and I had very similar ideas and as we both like to be organised we ticked lots of the list in the first 6 months. We have always been a perfect team.<\/p>\n

BUDGET | \u00a315,000<\/p>\n

THE VENUE | Ceremony was at Rhodes House on South Parks Rd in Oxford. Reception was at Cherwell Boathouse on Bardwell Rd in Oxford, with a BBQ and Pimms theme. We arrived to the Cherwell boathouse in a punt, which was just perfect.<\/p>\n

THE DRESS & ACCESSORIES | I fell in love with my dress as soon as it touched my skin. My 1950\u2019s Candy Anthony, lace, tea length dress with yellow petticoat and matching veil, made me feel and look like an absolute princess. Jonny bought my Vivienne Westwood shoes as a wedding present. The addition of the colour red to the theme worked so well, my bridesmaid\u2019s and I decided to mirror this in their shoes too.<\/p>\n

FINDING THE DRESS | I tried many traditional boutiques with my mother in law; they all looked awful and did not match my curvy figure at all. We LOL\u2019d at almost every dress I tried on; I always knew I did not want two of my best assets to arrive in the room before I did, which inevitably ruled out many styles of dress before I even started. Again, Pinterest saved the day; I was searching for hours and eventually discovered Candy Anthony Gowns in London. I booked an appointment and fell in love with the first dress I tried on.<\/p>\n

GROOM\u2019S ATTIRE | Jonny is a trendy groom, who likes to be coordinated; he took much longer to organise his look than I did. The waistcoat, jacket and trousers came from Marks and Sparks, the shirt and shoes from Next, the yellow bow tie and pocket square came from Mrs Bow Tie. Everyone commented on how dapper the groomsmen looked.<\/p>\n

THE READINGS & MUSIC | I walked down the aisle to a string version of Halo by Beyonc\u00e9; it was beautiful. Jonny and I then walked out to \u2018Married life\u2019 from the Disney movie \u2018UP\u2019.<\/p>\n

BEAUTIFUL BRIDESMAIDS | Lindy bop yellow dresses with while petticoats and red bow shoes from Mel Shoes.<\/p>\n

THE FLOWERS | Wild flowers were the theme for our wedding with daisies, jam jars and a rustic feel.<\/p>\n

THE CAKE | A wonderfully creative friend Amy Howe was our cake lady; she made a fabulous three-tiered cake, with yummy lemon drizzle cake, carrot cake, and chocolate cake.<\/p>\n

YOUR PHOTOGRAPHER | The incredibly talented Jen Marino; we came second in her photography competition and were overwhelmed by the outstanding quality of the photographs for our engagement shoot and our wedding day. She slotted straight in and began shooting the most naturally beautiful shots of us and our guests. We felt so comfortable and at ease in front of her lens. She is a legend. FACT!<\/p>\n

THE DETAILS & D\u00c9COR | We laser cut and etched many of the decorations ourselves, such as: the save the dates, invitation, table plan, the table numbers, the name place cards, the cake topper, the chair decorations, many signs to name but a few. The bunting came from eBay, as did the table runners.<\/p>\n

THE HONEYMOON | We booked a fly drive across California in a convertible mustang. It was incredible; we stopped off at San Francisco, Monterey Bay, Yosemite National Park, Death Valley, Las Vegas, Santa Monica and finally LA. It was very different to our usual beach holidays and we loved every moment.<\/p>\n

MEMORABLE MOMENTS | The ceremony itself was just so perfect, everyone was super happy for us. I even \u2018whooped\u2019 when our registrar announced us as husband and wife.<\/p>\n

ADVICE FOR OTHER COUPLES | Enjoy the planning process; make the most every moment and ensure that you celebrate your love for each other through every detail of your wedding day.<\/p>\n
