A completely different style of wedding on the blog this afternoon. Something I really love about running Whimsical Wonderland Weddings is the eclectic mix of styles of weddings I have the honour of sharing. No two days or in this case, time slots are the same.<\/p>\n

WWW readers Anna and Stuart decided to get married on the 6th June 2015 and opted for a countryside village hall reception. Their day was oh so pretty you’ll be pinning every single image. With a subtle pink colour theme they hand made much of their wedding, the bunting, drapes and fairy lights really brought the hall to life.<\/p>\n

I really adore the florals here too, Gyposophia, Astilbe and Roses really worked beautifully together. Their timeless yet stylish attire was lovely as was Anna’s amazing plaited hair do. Gorgeous.<\/p>\n

THE PROPOSAL | On a family holiday in Spain over new year.  We were skiing in the Sierra Nevada. On top of a mountain we stopped to admire the view across Granada. Whilst I was busy taking a photograph Stuart dropped to one knee\u2026.. it was a complete surprise!<\/p>\n

THE VISION | A laid back, fun, DIY village hall wedding in the Yorkshire Dales.<\/p>\n

THE PLANNING PROCESS | We knew which church we wanted to get married at (one I used to visit as a child), and that we wanted to have the reception in a local village hall. We were keen to tie the knot that summer, so we did the rounds of the local village halls, found the one we liked the best, and booked the first available summer date and went from there. The rest seemed to fall into place quite easily after that. We had 5 months from getting engaged to the wedding day, so we didn’t have time to over think things – which made the process more simple!<\/p>\n

BUDGET | \u00a315k<\/p>\n

THE VENUE | Hubberholme Church and Kettlewell Village Hall.<\/p>\n

THE DRESS & ACCESSORIES | Allure Bridal fitted lace dress in champagne.<\/p>\n

FINDING THE DRESS | I love lace dresses, and was keen on a slim fitting dress with some detail on the back. I went to a few dress shops and tried on loads (I loved this part!) – and was over the moon with the one I ended up with. Wish I had an excuse to wear it again!<\/p>\n

GROOM\u2019S ATTIRE | Navy 3 piece suit, sage green tie and an antique pink rose button hole.<\/p>\n

THE READINGS & MUSIC | Pachelbel’s Canon in D for the entrance, Elbow One Day Like This for the exit. For readings we had Song of Solomon, and \u2018He\u2019s not perfect, you aren’t either\u2026\u2019 by Bob Marley.<\/p>\n

BEAUTIFUL BRIDESMAIDS | We had 5 bridesmaids in 5 different floor length green dresses from Debenhams. I loved the way the dresses looked together – they toned together beautifully and looked so pretty together.<\/p>\n

THE FLOWERS | Antique pink roses, gypsophila and astilbe.<\/p>\n

THE CAKE |  A 3 tier cake decorated with icing flowers and bunting.<\/p>\n

THE DETAILS & D\u00c9COR |\u2028 We wanted a village fete feel to the day. Bunting, fairy lights, hessian and lace home made decorations. The deserts and alcohol were all home made by ourselves and some of the guests. We kept things simple but classy.<\/p>\n

THE HONEYMOON | Isles of Skye and Harris.<\/p>\n

MEMORABLE MOMENTS | Seeing Stuart stood at the altar when I first walked into the church, the speeches, my dad tearing up when he first saw me in my dress\u2026.<\/p>\n

ADVICE FOR OTHER COUPLES | Don\u2019t worry, be happy – and have fun!!<\/p>\n
