That confetti shot is often one of my most favourite when preparing a real wedding feature and our own confetti moment when we tied the knot was super magical.<\/p>\n

Hi The Real Flower Petal Confetti Company, could you firstly tell WWW readers a little bit about you?<\/h1>\n

 <\/p>\n

The confetti throw is a unique newlywed experience \u2013 being showered with pretty petal confetti as you take your first steps together as a married couple! It\u2019s a wonderful moment that marks the start of the wedding celebrations after the formal ceremony has taken place. The act of throwing confetti symbolises love and good luck (and fertility!) but mostly it\u2019s just loads of fun!<\/p>\n

A lot of venues have banned paper and rice confetti because of the mess it leaves behind, so totally natural biodegradable flower petal confetti is the perfect choice. The idea came to Charles, the owner of The Real Flower Petal Confetti Company, one summer\u2019s afternoon back in 1997 when petals fell from the bouquet he was carrying for his wife. He spent years growing different flowers and experimenting with natural drying processes before he found the best confetti petals \u2013 annual delphiniums. Small, light and fluttery, the petals hang in the air and look so pretty in photographs. His family farm in Wick, Worcestershire, now bursts with colour every summer \u2013 acres of flowers bloom in July and the petals are harvested by hand and dried in the sunshine and fresh air. The Real Flower Confetti Company is the UK\u2019s original confetti farm and we even open the field to the public to come and enjoy the colours.<\/p>\n

Tell us about your typical working day.<\/h1>\n

 <\/p>\n

From the Confetti Office in the village, orders are mixed and packed by hand to be sent out to weddings all over the world. Customers choose their own bespoke mix of petals in colours to suit their day, so it\u2019s a little like working in a sweet shop, measuring and mixing and packaging up! We have had some famous customers, but the order collected by black limousine for the marriage of Prince Charles and Camilla in 2005 was probably the most exciting!<\/p>\n

The Real Flower Petal Confetti Company is part of a working farm and estate so there is always lots going on. We run all aspects of the business ourselves from the Confetti Office so it is an interesting, creative and very busy place to work. Most of our orders come through the website, but we are here on the phone or via email and Facebook for help and advice \u2013 we all enjoy talking through ideas, options and colours with customers. We believe it\u2019s the little things that often make the biggest difference \u2013 and we know that there are a lot of little details to think about when planning a wedding! We are here to help make it all nice and easy.<\/p>\n

Could you tell us some more about your petals and prices?<\/h1>\n

 <\/p>\n

Our petal confetti is sold in either a large 10 Handful (1 pint) Bag or in individual packaging. It depends on how you would like to use it as to which is the best option for you. Prices start from \u00a37.50 a pint and \u00a31.99 for a sachet.<\/p>\n

Natural confetti has grown in popularity over the years, and so has our range – wildflower petals, rose petals, lavender and hydrangeas are available alongside our delphinium petals, so there is a huge range of colours and styles to choose from. Every type of wedding (traditional, informal, extravagant, chic, vintage, minimalist\u2026) can enjoy the beauty of petal confetti! We offer a large choice of packaging \u2013 personalised confetti cones, baskets, petal envelopes, bags, sachets and much more. It all helps you organise your confetti moment your own way.<\/p>\n

\"Freshly<\/p>\n

Do you have any tips for couples in selecting their confetti?<\/h1>\n

 <\/p>\n

We recommend simply choosing the petals you love best, because confetti is all about fun, so there is no need to worry too much. However we do offer a sample service if you\u2019d like to see and feel the petals and match colours. The next step is to think about how you are going to distribute your confetti to your guests. At this point speak to someone who can help organise things one the big day – you\u2019ll be busy elsewhere! Ask your bridesmaids, ushers or your mum to make sure everyone has some confetti and can direct people where to stand. Your photographer will appreciate the assistance with getting people in place. Be sure to have a good look at the location and chat it all through with your photographer, work out how many people can get involved and how you can take advantage of the setting – steps, pathways, natural banking and archways all help arrange people. A long line of guests will give your photographer lots of opportunities to get that perfect picture.<\/p>\n

A few clever ideas \u2013<\/p>\n

A basket of loose petals is simple and easy, ideal for someone to walk around with or you could place it by the doorway with a pretty sign.<\/p>\n

\"Confetti<\/p>\n

Confetti Cones make it easy for guests to hold their petals whilst they wait for the happy couple to emerge. Our confetti cones can be personalised with names, the wedding date, even with a photo \u2013 and this doubles up as a lovely keepsake for guests.<\/p>\n

Envelopes, Petal Bags and Confetti Sachets are all great alternatives to cones, and sometimes more practical as they are sealed and the petals won\u2019t fall out. You can also place them on seats in the venue or hand them out with the order of service so that your guests have their confetti ready to go.<\/p>\n

If you’re not having a traditional ceremony and want to have your confetti moment later in the day, then you could hand out a cone of confetti with each glass of Champagne as people arrive at the reception so that your guests will be ready to shower you with petals when you make your big entrance! You can place a Confetti Sachet, Envelope or Bag on each setting at the dining tables (it could be incorporated as a name place or a favour) and you could throw the confetti after your First Dance – they will then provide a pretty scattering all over the dance floor!<\/p>\n

There are no right or wrong ways to do things \u2013 its\u2019 totally up to you! Just enjoy it.<\/p>\n

Are there other ways to use petals on your wedding day?<\/h1>\n

It is a good omen to have a flower girl scatter petals down the aisle, in front of the bride, and it also looks super cute! Petals are a wonderful natural, biodegradable and eco-friendly way to add finishing touches to your wedding. Because they are preserved, not fresh, they don\u2019t wilt or fade or become slippery underfoot, so they are ideal for decorating tables, the aisle, and creating pathways. A lot of people also buy rose petals to scatter in the honeymoon suite!<\/p>\n

Are you seeing any trends for the year ahead?<\/h1>\n

Blue seems to be the colour for summer 2016! We\u2019ve noticed a lot of blue petals in our sample packs and our new Dusky Blue Hydrangea petals have been flying out the door.<\/p>\n

Can you give us a teaser about what you are working on now?<\/h1>\n

 <\/p>\n

We always have plenty of projects up our sleeve and not enough hours in the week to get them all out there! We have just launched two new product lines \u2013 beautiful freeze dried Hydrangea Petals and ribbon handle Baskets. They have both proven instantly popular. Next on the list is to prepare some new Special Offers for summer\u2026<\/p>\n

If you could choose another role in the wedding industry what would it be?<\/h1>\n

We\u2019d all rather like to make (or perhaps just eat!) wedding cakes \u2013 our favourite part of keeping up with the wedding blogs, magazines and social media is ogling the cakes! People can do such incredible things with icing!<\/p>\n
