Pure magic today courtesy of Leon and Holly and their nuptials held on the 14th November 2015 at Alverstoke Farm<\/a> in Western Australia. Their wedding sure had the wow factor, just you wait until you see the barn. Oh my.<\/em><\/p>\n

Leon and Holly were so very stylish in their elegant attire and were complimented by their gorgeous wedding party perfectly. The barn looked incredible draped in fairy lights, spectacular blooms and oodles of personal touches. Get your pinning fingers at the ready WWWers.<\/p>\n

THE PROPOSAL | Leon proposed to Holly on her family farm in Northam, WA on 13.04.2015. They (Leon, Holly, her Dad and the dogs) picked up takeaway coffees and headed out to the farm to watch the sun rise over the hills. Whilst Holly was easily distracted by the view, Leon snuck over to the car to press play on his well thought-out playlist and proceeded to walk back towards Holly with a large photobook in his hand, which he then presented to her. The book was beautifully made; full of photos and happy quotes which Leon and Holly had shared during their time together so far. Whilst Holly made her way through the book (still completely oblivious as to what was going on), Leon anxiously waited for the final page to arrive. On that page was a photo of Leon down on one knee, holding a ring next to a homemade chalkboard sign which read \u201cHolly Renae, will you marry me?\u201d As Holly reached the page and processed the words written on the chalkboard, she burst into tears to find that Leon was now down on one knee with that same ring on display, ready to pop the big question and that rock on her finger! Holly happily accepted his offer and she, Leon and her Dad (who was present for the whole thing) spent the rest of the morning reflecting on what a wonderful moment it was, whilst sharing plenty of hugs and happy tears together.<\/p>\n

THE VISION | We were both born and raised in the country, so we wanted a venue which reflected who we are as people. When we came across Alverstoke, we knew we\u2019d found a winner! From the quaint little school which we\u2019d be married on the front steps of, to the beautiful old barn built in the 1800\u2019s; the vision was pretty clear. We really just let the venue speak for itself and added a dash of colour here and there with deep tones in the flowers and crisp-white furniture.<\/p>\n

THE PLANNING PROCESS | We planned our wedding for a year and a half which in our opinion is the perfect amount of time; firstly to just enjoy being engaged for a while, then to throw a kick-ass party to celebrate and then finally get stuck into the planning which is so.much.fun! We planned the entire wedding together<\/u>; there\u2019s not a single thing we didn\u2019t do as a \u201cteam\u201d (poor Leon even got dragged along to meet with stylists and florists!). We were pretty picky when it came to our suppliers too \u2013 we met with five different photographers (clearly we chose the right one!) and Holly had four makeup trials to find one she loved; not just for the job they did, but also for the vibe they gave off! We wanted to make sure that those who were part of our wedding day genuinely wanted to be part of it and were going to make us, our bridal party and our guests feel comfortable. After a year and a half of the wedding planning consuming our lives, it was finally time to sit back and enjoy our hard work being put into action and to see our vision come to life!<\/p>\n

FINDING THE DRESS | I\u2019d found my dream dress even before I\u2019d found Leon! So\u2026 I put my Mum on a plane and took her to Sydney with me for a girly weekend of trying on wedding dresses. I tried the dress on and knew instantly that it was the one, although the price was a little out of my budget so I instead decided to have a dress (with a few twists of my own) created for me by Zanzis Couture in Perth.<\/p>\n

THE READINGS & MUSIC | Readings: \u2018These are the hands\u2019 and \u2018On you wedding day\u2019; Music: background music was performed by Les Trois Amies (String Quartet) and DJ Curtis covered the rest (Processional: John Legend \u2013 All of me, Signing: Angus & Julia Stone – The wedding song, Recessional: Xavier Rudd – Follow the sun, First dance: Ellie Goulding – How long will I love you (performed by Leon\u2019s sister, Chelsea Basham who happens to be a well-known Country Pop artist!)<\/p>\n

MEMORABLE MOMENTS | Leon: watching Holly get out of the car and walk down the aisle towards me and seeing how happy and emotional our guests were. Holly: having my Dad walk me down the aisle, seeing the emotion on Leon\u2019s face as I walked towards him and taking 10 minutes during the reception, to pause and reflect on the wonderful day we had shared.<\/p>\n

ADVICE FOR OTHER COUPLES | Remember to take at least 10 minutes out of what will be the fastest day of your entire life; to walk away from your guests, just the two of you and reflect on your first day together as husband and wife. We loved sitting on the steps of the school where we were married and talking about the mornings we\u2019d both had; getting dressed with our bridal parties, the excitement of our suppliers rocking up and the nerves we felt!<\/p>\n
