Countryside nuptials at their finest this morning, think pretty pinks and natural touches galore.<\/p>\n

Amy and Tom chose to get married on the 5th<\/sup> March 2016 in a church ceremony followed by a reception at Curradine Barns<\/a> in Worcestershire. It was important to them that their day reflected their love of the countryside with a fun and relaxed atmosphere too. I really love the simple yet chic details which included a basket filled with blankets,\u00a0 crate card holder, ladder seating plan and an alternative donut wedding cake. YUM.<\/p>\n

Amy looked utterly gorgeous in her lace gown and dreamy veil. Tom meanwhile donned a navy suit with dashing grey check waistcoat for a country gent look. The bridesmaids were darling in pink with fluffy balls of gypsophila used for their bouquets. Perfection.<\/p>\n

THE PROPOSAL | At Stanley Ghyll Force (a waterfall) in the Lake District. We were on holiday with our cocker spaniel (Mollie). I had just carried her up to the top of the waterfall for fear of her going over the edge and taking me with her. Tom suddenly dropped down to one knee and popped the question! I was in head-to-toe waterproofs and covered in mud, so it wasn\u2019t glamorous, but it was a beautiful moment.<\/p>\n

THE VISION | Our vision was a relaxed, fun, countryside wedding. We wanted to get married in Church, but as far as the reception goes, we didn\u2019t want things to be too formal or traditional.<\/p>\n

THE PLANNING PROCESS | Took about 16 months from start to finish. We took one thing at a time and so it never seemed to get too stressful. We were really lucky to have family and friends who helped a lot with the preparations and made the whole thing fun and enjoyable.<\/p>\n

THE VENUE | Curradine Barns in Worcestershire. These are converted barns that are now a specialist wedding venue. The barns are stunning \u2013 light, airy and lots of twinkly lights, so we loved it as soon as we saw it. And the food was absolutely top notch! We had our ceremony at St Mary\u2019s Church which is right next door to Curradine. It\u2019s such a lovely little church with a really welcoming feel. We felt completely at home saying our vows there.<\/p>\n

THE DRESS & ACCESSORIES | I wore a beautiful fitted lace dress with a low back from La Couture Bridal Boutique in Blakedown. They were absolutely fantastic throughout and I would highly recommend them. I also had a stunning headpiece designed and made by Becky Henderson of Laurel Lime. I absolutely treasure it; it was the one thing that I had custom-made and everyone commented on how lovely and unique it was.<\/p>\n

GROOM\u2019S ATTIRE | These were rented suits and waistcoats from Duncan James in Walsall. The shop were super helpful and had a great selection of suits to choose from! We loved the navy with the waistcoats.<\/p>\n

THE READINGS & MUSIC | For our non-religious reading, we chose \u201cHow falling in love is like owning a dog\u201d by Taylor Mali. It was a tribute to our adorable cocker spaniel who sadly couldn\u2019t be there for the day (mainly because muddy paws on the front of a white dress apparently isn\u2019t a great look for a bride). For our music, we went for Pachelbel Canon in D for the entrance and the classic Wedding March for the recession. I\u2019m sure it was absolutely beautiful, but I was so full of emotion, I was just concentrating on staying vertical!<\/p>\n

BEAUTIFUL BRIDESMAIDS | I had four beautiful bridesmaids; my two sisters, Laura and Sarah, and my two friends, Sarah and Charlotte. Special mention has to go to Charlotte who managed the whole day and most of the evening despite being 38 weeks pregnant! I also had a very cheeky flower girl (my niece) who wore a pretty princess dress, and a very handsome little page boy (my nephew) in a teeny tiny navy suit!<\/p>\n

THE FLOWERS | My flowers were by Jane Edmonds of Long Barn Flowers. They were absolutely stunning and I truly loved them. I love the English countryside, so I really wanted that \u201cfresh-picked\u201d look.<\/p>\n

THE CAKE | We knew we didn\u2019t want a traditional wedding cake (we\u2019ve been to many weddings where beautiful cakes go uneaten, which is such a pity). We decided on a doughnut tower instead! We had a lovely cake stand made from wood slices and decorated with fairy lights and flowers, which the doughnuts were stacked onto. We had a little 6 inch cutting cake on the top tier so we could still do the traditional cake cutting and greatly enjoyed stuffing it in each other\u2019s faces.<\/p>\n

YOUR PHOTOGRAPHER | The lovely, lovely Lisa Carpenter! Not only is Lisa super talented, she is absolutely lovely to boot. She takes the most stunning pictures and captured the magic and the joy of our day perfectly. It\u2019s really important to have a photographer that is not only great at their job, but also that can fit in and get on well with your friends and family. You don\u2019t want a photographer to stand out, but nor do you want them to be a silent assassin! Having a fun photographer that your guests love just adds to the joy of the day, and Lisa totally nailed this.<\/p>\n

THE DETAILS & D\u00c9COR | Along with our natural theme, we wanted lots of wood and lots of fairy lights. We used a pair of painted ladders for our table plan, decorated with flowers and fairy lights. Our centrepieces were wood slices decorated with flowers and candles. It looked so very pretty on the day. We loved it!<\/p>\n

THE HONEYMOON | We went to New Zealand and Malaysia, and had the time of our lives! The trip to New Zealand was a bit tiring, especially as we were so pooped after the wedding. But it was so worth it when we got there! It easily the most awe-inspiring place we\u2019ve ever been \u2013 and to boot, the people are lovely and the wine is delicious! It\u2019s diverse and exciting \u2013 we cruised fjords, hiked on a glacier, went on long walks in what could surely have been Middle Earth, drank wine in Wellington and biked through vineyards. Malaysia, by contrast, was incredibly relaxing and we spent most of our time relaxing by the pool and enjoying our last few days of peace before our return home.<\/p>\n

MEMORABLE MOMENTS | The best part of the day for me was the ceremony. I can\u2019t quite describe how overwhelmingly emotional it is. I was shaky and teary before I even got into the church, but managed to hold it together until the \u201ckiss the bride\u201d moment (at which point I descended into a blubbering mess).<\/p>\n

ADVICE FOR OTHER COUPLES | For anyone that hasn\u2019t yet chosen their venue, I would say try to choose a venue that is just (but only just) big enough for you and your guests. It\u2019ll feel really cosy and will make creating an atmosphere on the evening an absolute doddle. This is exactly what Curradine was for us and it worked perfectly.<\/p>\n

For those a little further down the line, I would recommend committing a night a week to going on a date where wedding chat is banned. Love your wedding planning moments, but love your non-wedding planning moments too. Enjoy being fianc\u00e9 and fianc\u00e9e \u2013 do things you love doing together, whether that\u2019s getting dolled up and going to a nice restaurant or (more likely in our case) taking your dog on a lovely, long Sunday walk. Remember all the reasons why you fell in love!<\/p>\n

Oh, and get a \u201cto-do\u201d list app on your phone. We used Wunderlist, where you can share lists with each other and tick things off when done. Lifesaver!<\/p>\n
