Boho botanical and beautiful would be how I’d describe this wonderful wedding celebration. Filled to the brim with foliage, whites, greens and gorgeous attire.<\/p>\n

WWW readers Louise and Richard tied the knot on the 16th July 2016 at Furtho Manor Farm<\/a> in Buckinghamshire. They wanted to hold their day outdoors with a relaxed summers day feel. It all worked beautifully with an outdoor setting surrounded by trees and wooden backdrops crafted by carpenter Richard. The florals were dreamy, with oodles of greenery and white florals working fantastically together. Louise’s flower crown and the bridesmaids bouquets were just stunning.<\/p>\n

Louise chose to wear Rue De Seine<\/a>‘s ‘Fox’, which looked utterly beautiful with it’s off the shoulder straps and unusual fabric. While Richard went for an uber cool tartan suit and white shirt combo, which also matched their son’s cute outfit. What a stunning day.<\/p>\n

THE PROPOSAL | Richard took me to London for my birthday for a surprise meal. We were running late and Rich was panicking. I was trying to reassure him that if we missed the reservation we were in the biggest city in England and we would find somewhere else to eat but he didn\u2019t want to do this so we rushed around (me in 4 inch heels) and finally I could see we were going to the Oxo Tower. When we arrived the staff gave us some special treatment and even moved us to a better table after our first drinks which I put down to Rich telling them it was my birthday. After our started I could see Rich looking behind me and smiling as I turned around the waiter was walking our son to our table dressed in a shirt and bow-tie holing the ring box open! My Mum and Dad had driven Roscoe to London to propose to me!<\/p>\n

THE VISION | We knew we wanted it to be a relaxed affair with all of our family and friends. We had known of friends agonising over the costs of meals per head and strict numbers of guests and knew we didn\u2019t want those restrictions so we could have the best atmosphere possible! I wanted to get married in summer and was hoping (weather permitting as much of it could be outside).<\/p>\n

I knew I wanted it to be very botanical \u2013 lots of foliage, and white flowers. I wanted my bridesmaids in white and lots of natural textures \u2013 woods and concrete and hay bales etc.<\/p>\n

THE PLANNING PROCESS | The planning process was pretty straight forward. I knew what I wanted look wise and very quickly had booked most of our suppliers. The most difficult decision was to do with the suits and bridesmaid dresses as one size does not fit all and A LOT of people to please!<\/p>\n

We knew we wanted it to be more of a glorified party than a traditional wedding so we decided to have BBQ food as our catering. We were unsure how it would work as we had a lot of guests so we asked for the caters to have extra waiting staff working and they could serve the food to the guests. The food was amazing.<\/p>\n

We wanted as much alcohol flowing as possible so we had 3 bottles of prosecco per table plus we served bottles of bud throughout the meal.<\/p>\n

BUDGET | The budget started at around \u00a313,000 but it quickly escalated! We haven\u2019t added all up the costs but we would guess we spent around \u00a320,000.<\/p>\n

THE VENUE | Furtho Manor Farm \u2013 The Barn itself is a complete blank canvas in a beautiful rural setting, as the name suggests on a farm. It has a small lake, a 15th<\/sup> century Dovecote and 17th<\/sup> century Church.<\/p>\n

Because the barn is simply what it says on the tin \u2013 a barn, we knew we would have to pretty up the place. We wanted to make good use of the beams and hired festoon lights which were beautiful. We also made large rope covered rings which the florist decorated \u2013 these were my favourite piece of the d\u00e9cor and made the room look so beautiful.<\/p>\n

THE DRESS & ACCESSORIES | The dress is Rue De Seine \u2013 Fox Gown. Flower Crown by my florist and just a simple necklace which was a gift from Rich a week before the wedding. The necklace has two rings linked \u2013 one in rose gold so it looks like our wedding rings.<\/p>\n

FINDING THE DRESS | I had done a lot of research and knew the designer I loved. I was besotted by the Cleo Gown. The nearest stockist was Brighton so we headed down to Leonie Claire for our appointment. Unfortunately they didn\u2019t have the Cleo Gown but Leonie was absolutely incredible and I fell in love with The Fox Gown. Leonie informed me that the designer was coming to her store for a trunk show 2 weeks later and she was bringing the Cleo Gown so I decided to wait until then to make my decision. Two weeks later when I tried it on it didn\u2019t suit my figure and I fell in love with the fox gown even more!<\/p>\n

GROOM\u2019S ATTIRE | Rich found his suit online \u2013 it was a Noose and Monkey Suit which was blue and green, which meant we could match the groomsmen suits to two colours.<\/p>\n

We also had a great result with Roscoe\u2019s outfit. We knew we wanted our son to match Rich. We thought that we could potentially find a matching tartan but it was very difficult online to be sure to match the colours. I phoned Noose and Monkey who were extremely helpful! They didn\u2019t know the name of the Tartan but said they would send us an off-cut for free that we could use to get something made! It meant Roscoe\u2019s shorts matched Rich\u2019s suit exactly. We even had some spare fabric to make a little bow tie for him!<\/p>\n

THE READINGS & MUSIC | We had 3 readings at our wedding. We had a poem written about us as a couple from Rich\u2019s Groomsman Paul. He was Rich\u2019s house mate when we first started dating so witnessed us when we were smitten 22 year olds! My good friend Leah read her own adaptation of the XX song Angels, which is one of our favourite bands. And my other good friend Jess read a reading that she had beautifully written.<\/p>\n

I chose to keep the song I walked down the aisle to a secret from Rich as I wanted to evoke some nostalgia. I chose a song which we both love \u2013 The XX \u2013 The Intro, which is an incredibly intense piece of music! It did the job as Rich was quite teary eyed when I got to him!<\/p>\n

Our first dance was not a traditional affair. We wanted to set the tone for our wedding so chose the Jamie XX remix of You Got The Love. Before the song started we asked all guests to join us for the one song which all 120 guests did! It was a great start to the party and my favourite part of the wedding!<\/p>\n

BEAUTIFUL BRIDESMAIDS | Having 8 bridesmaids I always knew this was going to be tricky. I knew I didn\u2019t want them to be traditional bridesmaid dresses and I wanted them to look fashionable. I found some dresses I loved online so I ordered them but was aware I had to please 8 different body shapes! They didn\u2019t suit everyone so I then bought an alternative for 4 of the bridesmaids and they really complimented each other well.<\/p>\n

THE FLOWERS | My florist was Georgianna at Jade Flower Boutique. I knew I wanted lots of foliage and I asked for my bouquet to be long and sweeping with white flowers, I asked for the bridesmaid bouquets to be small and purely foliage as a contrast to their white dresses. I knew that Georgianna was an incredible florist and I knew that the flowers were going to be key in the d\u00e9cor. Georgianna made a beautiful flower display as a backdrop to our ceremony as well as 10 hanging rings for in the barn. Each table had beautiful white flowers and foliage on.<\/p>\n

THE CAKE | We didn\u2019t have a wedding cake as we had been to so many wedding where we didn\u2019t eat it! So we ordered two 50 piece cakes, one Chocolate and one Fresh Fruit Gateau from Patisserie Valerie. We also ordered 50 doughnuts from Krispy Kreme. Safe to say \u2013 it was all eaten!!<\/p>\n

YOUR PHOTOGRAPHER | Laura O Photography\u2026. So amazing! Rich and I don\u2019t take too many pictures of ourselves so we weren\u2019t overly comfortable in front of the camera. I sent Laura some pictures of the types of photos I wanted and Laura set them up on the day! I was so happy with how our wedding was captured!<\/p>\n

THE DETAILS & D\u00c9COR | We hired in a lot of our decorations \u2013 table d\u00e9cor, peacock chairs, cake display table and baskets etc from a friends newly started business \u2013 Hamsa Weddings. We went for rows of tables and wooden chairs which were divided by an aisle down the middle of the room. We hired in festoon lights.<\/p>\n

Rich is a carpenter so I roped him into making some bits for our wedding! We bought some lovely antique doors and Rich built a frame and panels either side \u2013 we used this as an entrance to our ceremony, even though it was outside on hay bales.<\/p>\n

Rich also made a sign for the bar, which was in lights and spelled out Roscoe\u2019s Bar \u2013 which is our son\u2019s name. this looked great once it started getting dark!<\/p>\n

THE HONEYMOON | As we are a family of 3 not two we wanted to do something for us as a couple but also include Roscoe. We decided to go Barcelona for 5 days as a couple and then the week after we went to the South of France with Roscoe.<\/p>\n

MEMORABLE MOMENTS | Seeing Rich when I walked down the aisle\u2026. My Dad’s speech, our first dance, our after party\u2026 Everything!!<\/p>\n

ADVICE FOR OTHER COUPLES | Relax, get all the big stuff out the way so you have plenty of time to do the fun stuff \u2013 like the d\u00e9cor! Don\u2019t get hung up on how a traditional wedding should look \u2013 do what you want and have it as YOUR day!<\/p>\n
