Happy Friday folks, I hope you are gearing up for a lovely festive fun-filled weekend. We’re headed back to the glorious summer we enjoyed this year and to the wedding of WWW readers Sophie and Chester who were hitched on the 27th August 2016 at Ratsbury Barn<\/a> in Kent. This is one super beautiful venue, with the barn boasting the most magical doors where Sophie and Chester said I do alfresco. With a relaxed and rustic vision this was the perfect setting for their wedding. They DIY’d much of the day themselves, including the log slice details and gorgeous window seating plan. WWW faves PartyBales supplied the awesome hay bales and fun garden games for the guests, amaze.<\/p>\n

Sophie’s Maggie Sottero<\/a> gown was pretty special with reams of tulle and a delicately embellished neckline, she teamed her dress with a dried floral crown from The Artisan Dried Flower Co<\/a> and veil. She looked stunning. The bridesmaids wore grey toned dresses and I adore the boys country gent look which consisted of jeans, waistcoats and bow ties. Too cool for school. THE PROPOSAL | We were in Crantock, Cornwall with our friends and they made their excuses to go to town shopping, we were going to watch the Formula One at the Bowgie Inn but I forgot it was a Friday (he tricked me to think it was a Saturday) so he said lets go for a walk on the dunes, I moaned because I had gone for a long walk on the beach with the girl of the couple we went camping with, I said why don\u2019t we go a short way but he insisted. I moaned the whole way and when he said lets sit down here at the top I went to lay out my jacket and he got down on one knee! I didn\u2019t believe it, we had been together for over 10 years at that point and I think I said \u2018is this real\u2019 about 50 times before he asked again and I said yes!<\/p>\n

THE VISION | We wanted a relaxed day, to make sure we could have our family there and didn\u2019t want a structured wedding like most are nowadays. Where we could dance in flip flops and enjoy the whole day feeling relaxed. We wanted to try and keep the cost down and make it very rustic and very us.<\/p>\n

THE PLANNING PROCESS | 10 months of crazy planning, as soon as we got back from Cornwall a lot of internet searching began and we found a perfect venue to enjoy our relaxed day but it meant we needed to get everything in as we had just literally the barn. A lot of time spent with a hot glue gun and a hell of a lot of burlap making cutlery holders and table decorations!<\/p>\n

THE DRESS & ACCESSORIES | Jodis in Maidstone – Maggie Sottero Cambridge – Veil from Jodis, Shoes eBay.<\/p>\n

FINDING THE DRESS | Saw it in the shop window before being engaged and loved it, and then when we got engaged knew it was the one, even though everyone made me try on 10 dresses and took 3 hours! Tried that one last and loved it.<\/p>\n

GROOM\u2019S ATTIRE | Jeans from UniQlo, waistcoat – Next, shirts from BHS and bow ties online.<\/p>\n

THE READINGS & MUSIC | Reading done by uncle from South Africa, aisle music \u2018Thousand Years\u2019 by Jasmine Thompson.<\/p>\n

BEAUTIFUL BRIDESMAIDS | Sister Nastasha MOH, Bridesmaids Leigh-Ann and Kelly.<\/p>\n

THE FLOWERS | Flowers by Linda Shackleton and head flowers by Artisan Flowers through Etsy.<\/p>\n

THE CAKE | By Sim Hoang Payne – beautiful naked cake for us with fresh fruit on top.<\/p>\n

YOUR PHOTOGRAPHER | Sarah Fleet Photography (amazing).<\/p>\n

THE DETAILS & D\u00c9COR | We made the cutlery holders, table runners and table decorations ourselves. Chester cut the wood to make the flower display stumps and sliced wood to make coasters.<\/p>\n

The seating plan he made from an old window and all of the plans we made ourselves. We brought cheap jugs online and painted them our wedding colours. Most decorations were from eBay and lights from Ikea.<\/p>\n

THE HONEYMOON | We have booked to go to Cape Verde in December with the money we received as presents.<\/p>\n

MEMORABLE MOMENTS | Saying our vows, having a bubblegum ice cream together, doing tug of war and our first dance which was to Frances -\u2018 Don\u2019t Worry About Me\u2019.<\/p>\n

ADVICE FOR OTHER COUPLES | Don\u2019t get too stressed, it all comes together in the end and no one knows your plan so they wont know if things go wrong. Everyone will try and give you advice on what you \u2018should do\u2019 do what you want its your day but just say thanks and don\u2019t mention it again, they forget! Don\u2019t do your seating plan too early, mine changed about 100 times and expect people to cancel last minute. On the day just enjoy every moment it goes in a flash. Don\u2019t book your honeymoon straight away give yourselves something else to look forward to!<\/p>\n
