This wonderful wedding will bring cheer to your Monday morning, with it’s idyllic location, clear blue skies and of course utter romance.<\/p>\n

Mark and Suzanne were married on the 25th June 2016 in an outdoor hand-fasting ceremony in Mark\u2019s parents back garden followed by a picturesque marquee reception in a village green in Devon. Wildflowers was the vision, and boy oh boy did they pull it all off in style. The marquee was nestled in a meadow filled with poppies and wild blooms featured everywhere, including the illustrated stationery. It really was so very pretty.<\/p>\n

Bride Suzanne wore a show stopper of a dress, with it’s lace bodice, open back and tulle skirt. Her gown was by WWW Supplier Love members Grace Loves Lace<\/a>, and of course she teamed her dress with flowers in her hair, such a simple yet effortless look. Mark went for a casual neutrals style in a jacket by Tommy Hilfiger and classic chinos. So much love and joy here today folks.<\/p>\n

THE PROPOSAL | About three years earlier, during our 5 year anniversary. Took a while to come to wedding planning\u2026<\/p>\n

THE VISION | A low-key wedding, in the back garden of Mark\u2019s parents in idyllic Devon. Not too much fuss but a great day to enjoy. As half the wedding party was not from the UK – some UK and Dutch traditions to the mix. Theme was somewhat \u2018wildflowers\u2019 as late spring is a gorgeous time in the South Hams.<\/p>\n

THE PLANNING PROCESS | We tried not to get sucked up in wedding fever. Both of us hate planning. We did a lot ourselves (or should I say, Mark\u2019s parents? Sowing the wild flowers in advance – keeping fingers crossed that the weather would hold up, making the decorations such as attaching fake flowers to poles to hang from the ceiling of the marque, ordering hay bales from the local farmer). We came down a week before the wedding to arrange the last details.<\/p>\n

For us a few things were important – the band, and the food! Needed to make sure guests were fed throughout the day – had a wonderful local caterer – meal very much family style, and from the area. We had two bands from the neighbourhood, a gypsy jazz band called Hot Club of Stone House and The Beach boys cover band.<\/p>\n

THE VENUE | Mark\u2019s parents back garden for the ceremony, and a marquee in the village green for the party.<\/p>\n

THE DRESS & ACCESSORIES | Grace Loves Lace an Australian designer. Accessories real wild flowers grown by a lovely countryside \u2018gals\u2019.<\/p>\n

FINDING THE DRESS | Online! No serious, eBay. Set me back 250 quid, to leave more budget for the band and food \ud83d\ude42 I was scoping this Australian brand for a while, but found it a bit risky to get a dress made and imported, only to find it didn\u2019t suit. Very luckily I found someone that had done just the thing, and bought two dresses – so sell one. Fit like a glove!<\/p>\n

GROOM\u2019S ATTIRE | Casual, nice jacket from Tommy Hilfiger. Slacks and a white shirt.<\/p>\n

THE READINGS & MUSIC | The Beachboys Band (a cover band, did amazing job!), walked down the aisle to \u2018Here comes the sun.\u2019 We wanted our parents to do the ceremony, they suggested perhaps to go with something more philosophical.. Humanist David Pack did a great job.<\/p>\n

BEAUTIFUL BRIDESMAIDS | No official bridesmaids, just my sister main of honour and little niece as flower girl.<\/p>\n

THE FLOWERS | By Stockenham Hedgerows. Mark\u2019s parents family opened up their gardens to us, we picked the flowers the day before – for the bouquet and table decorations.<\/p>\n

THE CAKE | Carrot cake made by friends of Mark\u2019s parents, Sally. The best part was eating the leftovers the next day. Yum.<\/p>\n

YOUR PHOTOGRAPHER | Naomi McDoaul did a great job! The pictures are absolutely worth it. Great to see everyone smiling on all the pictures.<\/p>\n

THE DETAILS & D\u00c9COR | Wild flowers! Cut from friends gardens \/ sown in advance. Hay bales from the local farmer. A fire pit.<\/p>\n

THE HONEYMOON | Uhmm.. we ended up going to Kazakstan with a group of friends. The real honeymoon is still too come\u2026<\/p>\n

MEMORABLE MOMENTS | Everyone starting to dance as the band did the sound check during the starter and the main course! Singing \u2018Bring me sunshine\u2019 and the sun coming out afterwards. Walking around with a massive smile all day. Playing Cubb.<\/p>\n

ADVICE FOR OTHER COUPLES | Don\u2019t take it too seriously, the day is there to be enjoyed!<\/p>\n
