She is filling us in on what makes her tick, what she loves about wedding photography and even has top tips on picking your wedding photographer.<\/p>\n

Hi Becki, could you firstly tell WWW readers a little bit about you?<\/h2>\n

Hey, I\u2019m Becki, I am a Yorkshire-based wedding photographer and I am pretty convinced I have the best job in the world.<\/p>\n

As well as loving my job, I am a mother, dog lover, mountain climber and a soon to be deep sea diver. Watch this space.<\/p>\n

What do you love and dislike about your job?<\/h2>\n

Here is a huge serving a cheese for you\u2026 I really do love everything about my job. I guess the only drawback is that the party has to end. But then I get to go home, edit a heap of ace photos from a great day, and deliver them to my couples in the hope that they make them laugh, cry and say \u2018aww\u2019. Job satisfaction at its best right?<\/p>\n

The thing I love the most? I am a people watcher and observer by nature. I love being a fly on the wall at a wedding. Getting to know the couple and all theirs guests, at each wedding, is so much fun and is always different. It\u2019s also really important for me, because I like getting photos that reflect people\u2019s true personalities. Moments created by people are like movie scenes that I just have to frame a capture.<\/p>\n

How did you get into photography and into the wedding industry?<\/h2>\n

I got married myself, back in 2013. My wedding photographer was definitely my inspiration, watching him at work and seeing the results, I knew I wanted to do that. I worked in a secondary school for pupils with complex needs at the time, and although I felt passionate about the children I taught, I felt a creative change was due, so I made it happen.<\/p>\n

If you could choose another role in the wedding industry what would it be?<\/h2>\n

A little more cheese for you, I wouldn\u2019t change my job for toffee. But if you made me, I would be a wedding dress designer. I am rather obsessed with the dresses, all colours and shapes.<\/p>\n

What style is your work?<\/h2>\n

A perfect balance of fun, creative photography, together with documenting important moments, emotions and all the details. Add some funky and informal group shots, sprinkled heavily with confetti, and that\u2019s my style.<\/p>\n

Are you seeing any trends for the year ahead?<\/h2>\n

Trends are a funny one within wedding photography, I think anything that is to trendy might not last the test of time. Photos should be admired for years and years to come, so as long as the images reflect the moments, trends are not important. For the same reason, I think documentary photography is here to stay for a really long time. It\u2019s real, not posed. None photography related, I hear velvets and mustard yellows are in this winter.<\/p>\n

Could you tell us some information about your packages\/prices?<\/h2>\n

I offer a range of packages, aimed to cater for all types of weddings, long or short, big or intimate.<\/p>\n

My full day rate for the UK is \u00a31,250 to give you an idea. I offer additional extras, like a pop-up booth and albums. I have a brochure full of all the details if you would like to know more, get in touch.<\/p>\n

Do you have any tips for couples in selecting their wedding photographer?<\/h2>\n

Follow your heart, find someone you love the work of. Look through their blogs and get a sense of how they work throughout the whole wedding day. Make sure you like the way they finish their photos, the final look is their processional style and that\u2019s what you are paying for. If you want fun photos, find a fun photographer. If group shots and family portraits are important to you, make sure you see examples.<\/p>\n

Then back this all up by using your head. Check if they cover your location, find out if they are in your budget, and make sure they are available. If you can, meet them before you commit, or at the very least, Skype meet them. We get close to our couples and will be with you all day, you need to like them personally and trust them professionally.<\/p>\n

Lastly, make sure you read their contract agreement carefully. Know what you are getting in your package. How long will they be with you? When you will get your photos and how will you receive them?<\/p>\n

Can you give us a teaser about what you are working on now?<\/h2>\n

I am currently working on a few exciting styled shoots this Autumn. Creating some inspiration for couples wanting to get married later in the year. We have denim jackets and glittery pears; I\u2019ll say no more. I will be adding the images to my blog soon. <\/a><\/p>\n
