Be prepared to fall head over heels this morning for this whimsical, opulent, woodland inspired day, with so much style<\/em>.<\/p>\n

WWW readers Kyree and Eoin were married after eight years together, on the 7th June 2017; the same date both of their parents got married on over 30 years ago. Isn’t that just so lovely? The most moving and certainly memorable moment for the couple was Eoin standing at the end of the aisle waiting for Kyree after a serious road accident 8 months prior. Just so special.<\/p>\n

It was important that the day was intimate and quaint, with fuss free details and a special location. They chose Lustybeg Island<\/a>, Northern Ireland<\/a> to host their day, holding an outdoor ceremony<\/a> on the pier followed by a reception in a hall draped in twinkling lights and meaningful touches.<\/p>\n

Now did you ever see a more beautiful bride? Kyree looked so strikingly gorgeous in her illusion lace, hand beaded, couture Julia Kontogruni<\/a> gown, teamed with Oscar de la Renta<\/a> heels. Oh my! Eoin meanwhile donned a burgundy jacket and shoes designed by Kyree. Wow wee!<\/p>\n

THE PROPOSAL | We got engaged five years ago when we were 21. Eoin sold his guitars to help buy my custom black sapphire engagement ring, which was really sweet as they are his most prized possessions. He proposed on a little stone bridge that overlooked the sea in Newcastle but even though it was raining and so muddy that his shoe got stuck and fell off, he still got down on one knee, which was hilarious. He then carved our initials into the bridge.<\/p>\n

THE VISION | I envisioned an ethereal, opulent, woodland inspired wedding and it was important to make sure it fitted our style. We wanted it to be intimate and quaint and we found the perfect backdrop to suit us on an island in the Fermanagh Lakelands.<\/p>\n

THE PLANNING PROCESS | We initially planned to marry in Italy as soon as I was finished University, but I unfortunately lost my mother in my final year and our plans were paused. We bought a house instead and set our date for a few years later. I was in my element planning the wedding, from invitations and rings to my dress and shoes and I was very fortunate to have a fianc\u00e9 who supported every decision I made, family members to help out wherever needed and zero wedding stress.<\/p>\n

THE VENUE | We knew Lusty Beg was for us the first time we were crossing on the ferry. It\u2019s in the Fermanagh Lakelands and is surrounded by woodland, with cabins and piers lining the lakeside and rustic boats perched up on the overgrown lake bank. We are nature lovers so once we saw the fairy tale setting of the island we knew this was our place and even though it was the first venue we had looked at, we booked it on that same day. We got married under a cherry blossom tree, on a wooden pier overlooking the lake and a family of swans gate crashed!<\/p>\n

THE DRESS & ACCESSORIES | My dress was a hand beaded, couture Julia Kontogruni gown from her 2017 collection. It has an illusion lace bodice and neckline, long detailed sleeves and intricate beading all over. The bottom has layers of French lace and organza, with an embellished sheer overlay and a long appliqu\u00e9 train, which got covered with twigs, leaves and fir cones on the day! A large underskirt came with the dress to make it a ball gown, but the Princess look just isn\u2019t me so I didn\u2019t wear it. My shoes were Oscar de la Renta and I wore my mother\u2019s engagement ring on my right hand. For the evening, I changed into a simpler, fitted lace dress with similar detailing on the bodice and a sheer cape.<\/p>\n

FINDING THE DRESS | I was initially going to bring Eoin to help me find my dress but after the accident this wasn\u2019t possible. My mother had left money aside for me to buy my dream wedding dress so it was really emotional but special that she was able to be a part of the day in her own way. My bridesmaid, Lauren, came with me on the day I purchased it. I had actually arranged to see another dress but once I tried on the Kontogruni there was no comparison and I bought it straight away. I showed it to Eoin when I got home and he loved it.<\/p>\n

GROOM\u2019S ATTIRE | I launched my own fashion label in 2016 and I designed Eoin\u2019s wedding shoes, which I had handcrafted in Italy. Paired with wide legged trousers to fit his frame and a burgundy jacket that matched my hair, he was all set!<\/p>\n

THE READINGS & MUSIC | We chose \u201cBands of Gold\u201d for our first reading and \u201cAn Irish Blessing\u201d for our second reading. Eoin had initially chosen Wonderful Tonight by Eric Clapton as our first dance song, but because that was no longer a possibility, I walked down the aisle to an acoustic rendition of it instead, which a talented family member played under a tree next to the pier we said our vows. Daddy and I danced to \u2018I Loved Her First,\u2019 which was very fitting as I am the youngest in my family and the only girl. Eoin and I were unable to do a first dance but he made sure I didn\u2019t miss out and surprised me with a \u201cFirst Song\u201d and serenaded me with \u201cTo Make You Feel My Love\u201d by Garth Brooks. It was perfect and more \u201cus” than any first dance could have been.<\/p>\n

BEAUTIFUL BRIDESMAIDS | I had three beautiful bridesmaids, my cousin Genevieve, and my two best friends, Sherelle and Lauren. They wore silver off the shoulder dresses with lace-appliqu\u00e9d bodices and a lace train and had plum calla lily bouquets.<\/p>\n

THE FLOWERS | My bouquet was a mix of plum calla lilies, black bacarra roses and amaranthus. I wanted an organically styled bouquet filled with unusual flowers and deep burgundy tones.<\/p>\n

THE CAKE | Our cake was layers of champagne pillows with lace, pearl and floral details in a range of flavours.<\/p>\n

YOUR PHOTOGRAPHER | Our photographer was Jayne Lindsay, whose work I was drawn to straight away when I came across her poetic, fine art aesthetic and strong signature style.  She was a joy to have on the day and even though we knew we could be restricted with Eoin\u2019s mobility, her images evoke a different story. Jayne captured the day perfectly.<\/p>\n

THE DETAILS & D\u00c9COR | I love candles, lace and metallics so I tried to implement these throughout. Eoin doesn\u2019t like a lot of fuss, and in a place like Lusty Beg it isn\u2019t really necessary, so our d\u00e9cor was delicate but beautiful. We had lace tablecloths, engraved charger plates, a ton of candles and the ceiling covered in a mass of fairy lights, it was pretty magical.<\/p>\n

THE HONEYMOON | We had planned to travel Route 66, but this has been postponed until Eoin fully recovers. He had his fifth surgery the month after the wedding and has at least two more to go but the minute he is fit and able we\u2019ll be booking our flights!<\/p>\n

MEMORABLE MOMENTS | Eoin made it his goal to walk for the wedding after being the victim of a serious road traffic accident 8 months prior. After 40+ hours of surgery, a month in hospital, an ilizarov frame attached to save his right leg and months of intense surgery, he was standing on the pier smiling on June 7th, the best wedding present imaginable.<\/p>\n

ADVICE FOR OTHER COUPLES |  It\u2019s your wedding, do it your way! As long as it reflects the both of you, everything else is irrelevant. Try to be in the moment on your day and enjoy yourself, it\u2019ll soon be a memory so make sure it\u2019s the happiest one of all.<\/p>\n
