The berry tones in this wedding had me hook line and sinker on first sight. This beautiful Autumn wedding<\/a> was so seasonal and rustic; think purple, red and blush hue blooms, berry red lips and floral signage. Oh my<\/em>!<\/p>\n

Rose and Chris were wed on the 30th September 2017 at Chris\u2019 parents barn<\/a>. The barn is not a wedding venue and sure was a labour of love by their family and friends. A concrete floor was laid, the space was panelled and the roof fixed. Not to mention all of the lovely d\u00e9cor and finishing touches that were added to really transform this old log store. It looked truly magnificent.<\/p>\n

Bride Rose looked utterly elegant in her lace gown and bolero with a delicate floral crown and veil finishing her look to perfection. Groom Chris looked very dapper in Ted Baker, with a grey suit and floral accessories, which tied in with the berry theme. The bridesmaids meanwhile donned mismatched multi-way dresses with coordinating flowers to tie them all together. What a stylish and very gorgeous wedding party.<\/p>\n

THE PROPOSAL | Chris planned out the whole day to a minute by minute time scale much to our friends amusement! He took me to a gin distillery then a roast dinner. \u2028Food and Gin was a sure bet for a yes.. he knows me too well. He proposed overlooking Cheltenham at Ravensgate common then we joined our friends at the pub for a celebratory drink.<\/p>\n

THE VISION | Rustic opulence! Autumn berry tones with vintage gold lots of flowers and natural materials.<\/p>\n

THE PLANNING PROCESS | 1 year of meticulous spreadsheet planning, Rose making a lot of the decorations herself …with a little help from Chris! Including a flower wall hanging, paper flower backdrops, wheat from the farm tied with lavender and hanging hundreds of fairy lights to turning an old barn into a reception venue!<\/p>\n

BUDGET | \u00a318,000<\/p>\n

THE VENUE | Chris\u2019 parents barn. Chris\u2019 dad with help from friends, family and Chris and myself turned what was a fire wood store into a beautiful venue. From concreting the floor to Chris’ dad panelling the entire barn and fixing the roof, this was a huge project and we only had 11 months to finish it! Chris’ dad worked tirelessly and it exceeded our expectations and was an amazing transformation.<\/p>\n

THE FOOD | Pieminister were fantastic suppliers, they got involved and helped the whole day go so smoothly. Pieminister catered at the festival we starting going to at the start of our relationship, so was very personal to us and they are amazing! We really didn’t want the full sit down 3 course meal, it just didn’t suit the relaxed feel we were going for and this way all our guests got to choose a flavour pie for themselves!<\/p>\n

THE DRESS & ACCESSORIES | Wed2be Calista. Veil Sash & Veil. Belt local boutique.<\/p>\n

FINDING THE DRESS | I tried a few boutiques but was frustrated with the sizes available to try on. Wed2be had beautiful dresses and I found one the perfect length and size and needed no alterations and I could take it home there and then. I wanted to put my own stamp on it so went to The Fitting Rooms Gloucester to get the sleeves altered to off the shoulder, this finished off the dress perfectly. I then topped with a lace bolero for the ceremony.<\/p>\n

Evening dress by ASOS. I wanted something a bit more comfortable and glam for the evening! I found this amazing dress on ASOS covered in gorgeous vintage style gold sequins and champagne lace. Perfect.<\/p>\n

GROOM\u2019S ATTIRE | Ted Baker.<\/p>\n

THE READINGS & MUSIC | Music is hugely important to Chris and myself, our taste in music is what brought us together, going to festivals and live music is a big part of our lives. We had Staraflur by Sigor Ros as the entrance music and Foo fighters as our first dance starting slowly and then we got everyone to join in at the build up this was one of our favourite moments surrounded by our friends. The band The Nameless Three did this perfectly and they continued to keep the dancefloor packed all night!<\/p>\n

BEAUTIFUL BRIDESMAIDS | Jo, Emma, Sarah and chief bridesmaid Emma.<\/p>\n

THE FLOWERS | Esther and Flower Style Co. Completely got the style I was going for, beautiful flowers and hair pieces! She even made trees for the entrance to the barn.<\/p>\n

THE CAKE | Chris\u2019 cousin produced the cake, she runs her own cake company, Claire Owen Cakes. Beautiful berry colours splashed with gold leaf and decorated with fresh flowers from our florist<\/p>\n

YOUR PHOTOGRAPHER | Sheryl from Oobaloos Photography. What can I say. I was adamant we had Sheryl from the start. She had photographed two of my friends weddings and I loved her style. She did not disappoint and our photos are beautiful.<\/p>\n

THE DETAILS & D\u00c9COR | Some of the details of the d\u00e9cor was produced by ourselves. Rose had an exact picture in her head of what she wanted and it all came together amazingly! Hollie from Daisy Says I Do got the style and vision we were going for and added her amazing touches.<\/p>\n

We decided to splurge and hire Richard-Gloucestershire Magician and certainly didn\u2019t regret it. Richard was talked about weeks after our wedding by all our guests. He interacted with all our guests and children were mesmerized. He gave us the opportunity to sneak off for our couples photos and kept everyone entertained.<\/p>\n

THE HONEYMOON | We decided that we would take our honeymoon next year and planned a mini-moon in Somerset at the Quantock Hide just to help us recover from the big day.<\/p>\n

MEMORABLE MOMENTS | There are so many memorable moments from the day. Getting to sit together in the camper van and let it settle in that we were married was one for both of us.<\/p>\n

The band filling the dance floor as everyone joined us halfway through our first dance and then continued to dance the entire the night away was fantastic to see.<\/p>\n

Walking into the barn for the wedding breakfast was lovely as all the effort that had been put into the day with all our friends and family came together<\/p>\n

ADVICE FOR OTHER COUPLES | I would advise other couples to hire a videographer, Chris was against this as he thought it was just an expensive extra but Rose insisted and I am so glad she did! The day disappeared so quickly that I can\u2019t wait to relive it all when the video arrives.<\/p>\n

I would recommend other couples make sure they greet their guests, we were doing our group photos as our guests arrived (the impending storm meant we had to do it asap). This meant we missed seeing a lot of our guests.<\/p>\n

One big thing we would both recommend is take time away to sit and reflect at the reception with your partner. We barely had time to ourselves!<\/p>\n
