Hi everyone, my name is Catherine Bailey and I\u2019m a professional fashion and bridal make-up artist based in Surrey. Today I\u2019ll be talking about some of the most influential new make-up looks<\/a> on the Spring\/Summer 2019 catwalks, and how you can take some of these looks and incorporate them into your own wedding make-up this year.<\/p>\n

PASTEL EYES<\/h2>\n

Pastel colours were once again a key trend seen on the Spring\/Summer 2019 catwalks, which strongly featured shades of lemon yellow, dusky rose, baby blue and soft lilac.<\/p>\n

These kind of delicate petal shades are not only very wearable for brides, but they also allow you to echo the colours of your bouquet and\/or of your bridesmaids\u2019 dresses in your wedding make-up.<\/p>\n

The most modern way to wear pastel eye make-up is to apply a simple wash all over your lids. Choose a powder or liquid eyeshadow with a delicate sheen, as matte pastels can look rather flat and chalky, and frosted pastels are just way too retro!<\/p>\n

NEUTRAL TONES<\/h2>\n

Neutrals and earthy tones such as cream, beige, toffee and khaki were another major trend on the Spring\/Summer 2019 catwalks, giving a nod to the minimalist looks of the 1990s and the neutral make-up looks favoured by the original supermodels such as Cindy Crawford and Naomi Campbell.<\/p>\n

These sort of neutral shades are obviously very wearable for bridal make-up, and they do look very elegant and timeless, but watch out that they don\u2019t make you look washed out on camera! I\u2019d recommend warmer, bronzier tones on the eyes, cheeks and lips, rather than anything too beige.<\/p>\n

Marc Jacobs Eye-Conic Longwear Eyeshadow Palette<\/em> in \u2018Glambition\u2019 is just one of the multitude of beautiful neutral palettes on the market at present, and would look beautiful paired with a natural blusher such as Tarte Amazonian Clay Blush <\/em>in \u2018Exposed\u2019 and a natural lip colour such as NARS Audacious Lipstick<\/em> in \u2018Raquel\u2019 to create the monochromatic make-up look which was another key trend on the catwalks.<\/p>\n

CORAL<\/h2>\n

\u2018Living Coral\u2019 is of course Pantone\u2019s \u2018Colour of the Year\u2019 for 2019<\/a>, and it\u2019s a super-pretty colour to wear on your wedding day.<\/p>\n

Create peachy cheeks using Stila Convertible Color Dual Lip and Cheek Cream<\/em> in \u2018Gerbera\u2019 (or NARS \u2018Sex Appeal\u2019 if you prefer a powder blusher, paired with a coral lipstick such as Charlotte Tilbury Matte Revolution<\/em> lipstick in \u2018Sexy Sienna\u2019.<\/p>\n

GLOSSY EVERYTHING<\/h2>\n

The Korean beauty trend of \u2018glass skin\u2019 is still going strong, and it can work for bridal make-up, as long as your skin is in excellent condition and you use the right cosmetics to then enhance it in such a way that you look dewy rather than sweaty \u2013 easier said than done on a hot summer\u2019s day!<\/p>\n

I highly recommend Becca Backlight Priming Filter<\/em> \u2013 used either on its own or mixed with foundation \u2013 to create flawless looking skin that reflects light beautifully without any shimmer. You could then dab a cream highlighter on your cheekbones such as RMS Beauty Living Luminizer<\/em> or Charlotte Tilbury Beauty Light Wand<\/em> to create even more glow!<\/p>\n

Lip gloss is also making a big comeback this year, and it is ideal for bridal make-up, as it gives such a fresh and youthful look that is effortless and pretty. My favourite sheer lip glosses include Marc Jacobs Enamored Hi-Shine Lip Lacquer<\/em> in \u2018Sugar Sugar\u2019, Fenty Beauty Gloss Bomb<\/em> in \u2018Fenty Glow\u2019 and Stila Lip Glaze<\/em> in \u2018Grapefruit\u2019.<\/p>\n

BRUSHED UP BROWS<\/h2>\n

Despite Rihanna\u2019s recent Vogue <\/em>cover wearing pencil-thin drawn on eye brows, bushy brows are actually a stronger trend than ever, and were seen on many models on the catwalks.<\/p>\n

I like to fill in any gaps in the brows using a specialist product such as Anastasia Brow Powder Duo<\/em>, before brushing them up and setting them with Benefit 24 Hour Brow Setter<\/em>, which locks them in place all day with any stickiness or crunchiness!<\/p>\n

GLITTERY EYES<\/h2>\n

There was a plethora of glitter looks on the catwalks, sprinkled liberally all over eye lids and even through hair! The good news is that glitter can easily be worn on your wedding day, if you want to give a more subtle nod to the trend.<\/p>\n

I think glitter looks so pretty all over the eyelid, or worn in a curved line along the socket, or just as a little twinkle in the inner corners of the eye \u2013 my favourite is Stila Glitter & Glow Liquid Eyeshadow <\/em>because it comes in 17 pretty shades and dries down straight away, so you don\u2019t get any glitter falling down onto your cheeks!
