I can’t help but feel all cosy and festive gazing at these beautiful<\/em> minimalist<\/a> wedding ideas<\/a> sent over to us by Nicola Belson Photography<\/a>, who was behind the photography, concept and co-styling. But you know what? These inspirational captures are versatile enough to be used all year round. The shoot was inspired by Scandinavian design; think natural materials, clean lines and neutral earthy hues. The results are just glorious, with a watercolour cake, divine greenery<\/a> laden flowers and stunning gowns all featured.<\/p>\n

There are some great touches here at Acorn Barn<\/a>, which really add edge; the hexagon flower arch backdrop makes a great statement, as do the felt board signs and the cosy bridal knitwear. I must also rave about the beautiful hair and make up, the three hair looks are just so so pretty. There is also much thought in the finer details, like the calligraphy stationery and delicate jewellery and all of those little items really do make such a different to wedding day style. Get ready to be left feeling super inspired.<\/p>\n

Minimalist Scandinavian Wedding Ideas<\/h2>\n

Scandinavian Shoot – Nicola Belson Photography \/\/ Acorn Barn<\/strong><\/p>\n

With a long-term love of minimalism and Scandinavian design, a shoot had been in the making for a while. Clean lines, a neutral colour palette and understated style was the aim. So when Acorn Barn; a new venue in south Oxfordshire emerged the shoot quickly began to materialise due to it\u2019s wooden exterior, neutral interior and secluded garden.<\/p>\n

Initiated by Nicola and Caroline, a group of like-minded and creative wedding suppliers from Berkshire and South Oxfordshire brought each element of the shoot to life. We adored working with the neutral colours to create a fresh and contemporary look that could work well throughout the seasons, whilst bringing in a touch of green and wooden elements as a nod to the natural world.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Floristry<\/h3>\n

When coming up with concept for the florals on this shoot we knew we wanted to keep it stylish but simple. We used an array of varieties of foliage including ferns and eucalyptus for texture and seed pods and succulents to add interest to the arrangements. The tablescape was kept to clean, natural colours with gold and green accents.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

A stunning classic stretch crepe with clean lines, a key hole back and lace detailing. Perfectly complemented with a statement train to enhance the elegance and femininity.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Hair & Makeup<\/h3>\n

We created three looks throughout the shoot which built upon one another. The first featured soft romantic waves with lots of texture, keeping it looking natural and effortless, with a contemporary edge. For this first makeup look, we wanted to keep it minimal and polished just to enhance the eyes with fluttery lashes and a soft blushed pink.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Photography<\/h3>\n

Photographically, we also wanted to reflect the Scandinavian theme and by using natural light throughout the shoot we have a series of fresh, contemporary portraits and still life shots capturing all of the details.<\/p>\n

We strived to create a series of natural and believable images, therefore you will see our models laughing and talking as if they would be during a real wedding. We wanted our models to feel at ease and by creating a fun and relaxed environment during the shoot we feel as though we have achieved this.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Stationery<\/h3>\n

Scandi styling transitions into stationery through the use of clean lines, minimal colour palettes and subtle detailing. Crisp clean calligraphy, teamed with a simple layout ensured the stationery oozed contemporary cool.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Cake<\/h3>\n

For this cake I decided to keep the colours quite fresh and simple but make a statement with the placement of the tiers. I thought the best texture for the cake would be sleek to match the theme, so covering in fondant was the obvious choice. The cake was then hand painted with greens and gold tones with brush strokes in a watercolour style. I placed dried and gold sprayed flower heads to the side of the cake for a modern Scandi touch which finished it off perfectly.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
