This month’s collection, and the final one of the year, showcases the best of 2019. It’s a selection of photographers’ favourite photos from the past 12 months.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Magical sunset with beautiful love<\/h4>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

After a 10 km trek (with still 10 km to go back), we almost ran to reach the beautiful “Morskie Oko” lake on time. When we finally arrived, it was quite late, but we still managed to take some lovely photos. The real magic happened at the end, just as some of us thought the session was over. Right before sunset, sunlight illuminated the mountain peaks, beautifully reflecting in the water. A final photo stop on a large stone in the lake allowed the bride and groom to relax in the stunning surroundings, creating a unique picture of love perfectly harmonising with nature.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Clare and Tom had a wonderful wedding at Upwaltham Barns. I stayed longer to capture their evening party, and this shot was taken just after their first dance, when everyone joined them on the dance floor. Memories of a Wet Summer<\/h4>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

It was late in the evening when I took the bride and groom outside under umbrellas, promising them they would love the shot I had in mind. It had rained almost all day! When the bride saw the image on the back of the camera, she exclaimed that she was actually glad it had rained on her day! This image is now framed and adorns a wall\u2014truly a memory of a wet summer!<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

I had an amazing, fun-loving couple, and as we were walking back after a few minutes of bride and groom portraits, the bride suddenly did a cartwheel, resulting in this moment. I must admit, there may have been a little alcohol involved at this stage!<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

On the day, I was thrilled to see the freshly cut field and these fabulous hay bales scattered about. Why the long face?<\/h4>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Photo by Albert Palmer Photography<\/a> – Let me start by saying that nothing has been photoshopped! I persuaded the couple to walk into the field. The groom was quite keen, while the bride was less so! The light was great, but the horses were some way off.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

As I positioned the couple, the horses noticed us, became curious, and walked over. Then, all three of them broke into a trot and ran behind the bride and groom. Thanks to the fast frame rate on my camera, I managed to capture a photo where the three horses are evenly spaced out, with the couple perfectly positioned in the space.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

It was like magic as everything unfolded perfectly before my eyes. We quickly exited the field afterwards!<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Photo by Albert Palmer Photography<\/a> – Totally set up\u2014just for fun! After a hot wedding in Spain, the bride, groom, and many of their friends decided to jump in the pool at around 1am.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

I had about five minutes’ notice, so I dashed to the pool, set up some lights, took a few test shots, and hoped for the best! What followed is one of my favourite shots of the year\u2014full of fun, colour, and suspense.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Tears of Love<\/h4>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

During our pre-wedding meetings, Sarah never mentioned that her dad was unwell. I had spent just over an hour with Sarah and the girls during the preparations before heading off to document the guest arrivals.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

When I returned to Sarah’s hotel room to photograph her dad\u2019s reveal moment, Sarah told me just seconds before he entered that her dad had been very ill.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

The emotion in the room was unbelievable as he entered and saw Sarah for the first time. He instantly smiled and began to cry. I was choked up behind the camera, getting in close to fill the frame with pure emotion while keeping the flower girls in shot to add more context.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

A Fathers Love<\/h4>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

I observed from a distance for some time before taking this photograph. I watched how this child’s father totally adored him. Amidst the usual wedding madness, it was as if time had stood still for them both to enjoy this shared loving moment together.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

To take this photograph, I didn\u2019t want to alter or disturb the moment, so I hid behind other guests and shot over their shoulders.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

PRIDE!<\/h4>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Photo by Jason Williams Photography<\/a> – I met this couple about a year before the event at The Wetlands Centre in Barnes, where I have shot many times. I enjoy same-sex events because there is often an added subtext of community, unity, and sometimes even a bit of defiance, all beautifully manifested by the rainbow theme. So when a rainbow (and a good one!) appeared right on cue, I pretty much commanded the couple to kiss like there was no tomorrow, and this was the result. I\u2019ve significantly increased the contrast and boosted the colours to give it a Wuthering Heights drama that I felt the image needed and deserved. Of its type, it’s my favourite from 2019. Hope you like it too.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

We went out to do the couple shots after the wedding breakfast, and the lighting was just perfect. I noticed the moon to the south and wanted to incorporate it into the shot. To add a bit of movement, I had Milli and Adam run across the frame as quickly as they could.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

The first dance took place outside the Lamb Tavern pub, with a live band, at Leadenhall Market. This is my favourite moment of 2019\u2014such a perfect couple! They continued to share their happiness in South America for six months after the wedding, enjoying a long and joyful honeymoon.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

I like it because it\u2019s a great example of using what\u2019s available to create something creative and timeless. I also love the symmetry of the final frame.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

There were several times throughout the day when she would step away from the bustle and noise to give her grandad a long hug. The landscape, the light, and the two of them made this one of my favourite moments and images from 2019.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

This couple was so good-looking and enthusiastic about the photos; I loved photographing them. I had to finish their day with a magical sparkler exit, and it exceeded everyone\u2019s expectations, including mine.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

I love creating magical photos\u2014images that make people go “Wooowww,” and a well-executed and edited sparkler photo usually does the trick. This couple was amazing: so in love, so into their photos, and so stylish\u2014everything a photographer could ask for. I just wanted to capture their magic with this shot.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Fun By The Sea – Lake District Wedding<\/h4>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Situated near Kendal, Park House Farm is a new venue with a stretch of coastline right on its doorstep. After dinner, we seized the perfect opportunity to hop in the car with these two lovely people in the back and headed off to the beach for some stunning portraits.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Dancing In The Dark<\/h4>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

With no light around, I used a flash behind the couple and asked them to have a little dance in the dark. Sometimes, you just get lucky, and this is one of those moments when everything aligned perfectly.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Abi, Ben and the ferns<\/h4>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Photo by Sally Rawlins Photography<\/a> – Straight after the hottest day of the year, it was an unusually rainy July wedding day, but I managed to sneak 10 minutes of photos outside with Abi and Ben at their incredible venue, Butley Priory in Suffolk. The lush green of the ferns complemented Abi\u2019s bold, vibrant bouquet and Ben\u2019s royal blue suit, making this a standout photo. It\u2019s my favourite of 2019.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Rosie\u2019s dad Bruce was bowled over seeing Rosie in her dress for the first time \u2013 an incredible moment at Rosie and Tom\u2019s wedding at Caswell House in July this year.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

There were tears, laughter, and COLOUR. The bride had done a boudoir session before the wedding, and on the wedding day, she removed almost all her clothes and requested a sensual photo with the dress. Just five seconds after envisioning the image, I exposed the photo to capture the bright light. At home, I corrected and refined the image. I love how the sensuality is present, with the bride, the dress, and her body subtly exposed.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Since it’s only accessible by 4×4, we all hopped in and drove up. We were met by hurricane winds and stunning views, and the veil flew perfectly.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Smoke\/Colour at Tunnels Beaches<\/h4>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

With its own private beach, the venue Tunnels Beaches allowed us to capture this vibrant and playful smoke bomb photo, perfectly capturing the party atmosphere of the day. The Florists Bouquet<\/h4>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Rain, what rain!<\/h4>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Photo by Sarah Williams Photography<\/a> – The award for my wettest and most memorable wedding of 2019 goes to the lovely Vanessa and Mark, who were married at the wonderful Kingdom, Penshurst in Kent.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

The outdoor ceremony they had been hoping for was ruined by a downpour that arrived just as the ceremony was about to start, and they had rain on and off all day.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

They didn\u2019t let this stop them from having fun, however, and this photo of them in the rain on a space hopper is still one of my favourites. It really shows that despite the horrendous weather, they still had the best time\u2014and were even blessed with a rainbow.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
