The night before their wedding, we spent the whole evening dashing around one of the most picturesque parts of the island, chasing the sunset and snapping images of the two of them haloed by sunrays. By their wedding day, we felt more relaxed and swanned over to the cliffside to capture stunning Blue Hour portraits after sunset. The colours in the sky over Santorini after sunset are indescribably beautiful.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n Photo by Amy Faith Photography<\/a> –<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n We had just finished Katie and Craig’s sunset shoot in the vineyards at Ch\u00e2teau Soulac and were heading back to the barn to join their guests for the evening. Craig announced that he wanted EVERYONE to enjoy the sunset, so he rallied around 100 slightly tipsy people to make their way across the ch\u00e2teau’s grounds from the barn all the way to the other side to gaze out over the Dordogne River at one of the most spectacular views I have ever seen. While we were there, we took an impromptu group shot, and Katie, who had earlier refused to throw her beautiful bouquet, came up with the brilliant idea of tossing it from the spot where I had stood for the group photo. This is the image I captured. On a beautiful September day, the unique light of St Ives made this beach shot look like we were somewhere in the Mediterranean.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n Photo by Andy Sidders Photography – This is my favourite shot from my first destination wedding<\/a> – Cat & Ed’s wedding at Broadhaven Bay on the West coast of Ireland.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n The shot came about while I was taking traditional formal group photos on the beach. As the sand around the party got churned up between different group shots, I wanted to keep the photos looking as clean as possible, so we occasionally moved to a new spot on the beach. The scenery was beautiful, so we went to take some photos in a small tower. The streets of Sorrento are so beautiful that we set aside some time for portraits while exploring the town. I love this photo because of the colourful walls, the word ‘Sorrento’ on one of the buildings, and the sight of a happy, relaxed couple having the best time!<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n Photo by Ebourne Images<\/a> – It seems there are a million ways to tie the knot. I\u2019ve photographed newlyweds in a two-seater aeroplane at 2,000 feet and had the privilege of shooting a blessing at Stonehenge. I\u2019ve captured special moments at St Paul\u2019s Cathedral and some of the grandest venues across Europe. But often, you just can\u2019t beat a beach wedding\u2014or that kiss on the beach.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n Photo by The Gibsons<\/a> – Let\u2019s return to Mexico, where this beautiful and serene beach wedding took place. To capture this photograph, we waited for a stunning sunset in Calabria, Italy.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n Photo by Christian Allen Photography<\/a> – This wedding in Greece was held on Cameo Island, Zante, a popular destination for overseas weddings. This image is always a favourite of mine; I love seeing the expressions on everyone\u2019s faces, especially the groom\u2019s, with all eyes focused on the bride\u2019s arrival. One of the biggest challenges for a destination photographer, particularly in very sunny conditions, is the high contrast. However, my main issue on that Greek August day was the extreme heat, which made the sunscreen on my face run into my eyes and sting terribly\u2014what a hot wedding indeed!<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n Photo by ANASTASIOS AGGELOU PHOTOGRAPHY<\/a> – Real Wedding Day Photo by David Glover<\/a> –<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n This wedding took place at Villa Carlotta on the shores of Lake Como in Italy in August of this year. Unfortunately, the groom\u2019s grandad was unable to attend due to illness, and it was later discovered that he passed away during the wedding.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n Upon reviewing the images, it seemed as though he had actually made it to the wedding. During the first kiss, a man appeared in the clouds giving a huge thumbs up. We couldn\u2019t believe it when we reviewed the images on the camera, but it seems grandad did make it to the wedding after all.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n Photo by Matthew Grainger Photography<\/a> – Ryan and Charlotte’s beautiful wedding in La Vi\u00f1uela, Spain, was a perfect day in one of the most stunning venues I have ever visited. The hotel, overlooking the lake with mountain views all around, provided an ideal setting for the outdoor ceremony in the sun.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n Photo by SV PHOTOGRAPH<\/a> – This photo was taken during a destination wedding with a couple from the US visiting French Polynesia. You take a dip in the sea, of course! As you can see, everyone agreed and joined the bride!<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n I love this image because these guests truly know how to party and were up for some unconventional wedding photos.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n Photo by Jason Williams Photography<\/a> –<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n I had already photographed this couple\u2019s wedding in Camden, London. When they told me they were having another Catholic ceremony in a tiny village in northern Italy near the Swiss Alps, I eagerly jumped at the chance. I advised the bride to get a cathedral veil, which you see in the image.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n While everyone was in the midst of the party, I noticed a beautiful sunset about to fade. I persuaded the bride to put her veil back on and join her husband for a moment. Although it\u2019s an unorthodox image since you can\u2019t see their faces, it captures a more private moment and remains one of my favourite images from my work.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n Photo by Sam & Louise<\/a> –<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n Many brides want stunning, show-stopping photographs of their wedding dress, but understandably, many are a bit hesitant about doing anything too<\/em> unconventional. So when I suggested suspending Jen’s dress from the washing lines above the cobbled streets of Lake Orta, I never imagined she would agree. But she did!<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n We carefully secured the dress to the hanger and slowly moved it away from the balcony until it was in the perfect spot. Naturally, it\u2019s not every day you see a wedding dress suspended above the streets, so it became quite an attraction. Groups gathered, and many people took their own photographs. It’s still my favourite dress photo three years on.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n Photo by Sam & Louise<\/a> – We\u2019re definitely home birds and prefer to stay within the UK for weddings. However, when our good friends and incredibly talented wedding filmmakers, Unique Visuals, got married and asked us to photograph their day, we jumped at the chance. Their wedding was perfect and set in the most stunning location.
