As Imogen was getting dressed, the bridesmaids helped with all the final details. This image shows Imogen after she had put on her veil. Instinctively, her friends reached in to help her flip it back over her face, preparing for her entrance down the long, sweeping staircase.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Bridal prep is one of my favourite times to capture\u2014filled with details, excitement, and plenty of opportunities to get close to the action. I love this shot because it captures all the excitement at the start of the wedding day and Lynsey’s casual approach to having her picture taken, even with what, let\u2019s be honest, isn\u2019t the most flattering accessory on her head.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

We met early in the morning at St. Paul\u2019s Cathedral to begin the session. Despite the freezing cold, we had a great time getting creative and having fun. We were fortunate to have the area to ourselves as the surrounding streets were closed for a marathon. We also managed to allocate time for an editorial session in a stunning Gothic church near the Bank. We then visited Leadenhall Market, Tower Bridge, and ended the day at Westminster.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

On September 2nd, despite the change in plans for the reception\u2014Martina and Walter had originally planned a relaxed, open-air buffet in the meadows at Castello di Paderna, an amazing location in the Emilia region\u2014Martina remained smiling and happy throughout the morning of her getting ready. I took this picture while she was putting on her shoes. I particularly love the light coming from an open window and the elegance of black and white photos. I took a few test shots to get the exposure right and then waited for the hairstylist to spray her hair. I didn\u2019t interfere; I simply waited for the moment to unfold. They had a wonderful ceremony in the small church and were heading straight outside after walking down the aisle. A slight breeze caused Danielle\u2019s veil to catch on the church railings, stopping her from moving further. Dan and Danielle are a very relaxed and fun couple, so Dan’s reaction was to laugh and point at his wife, who was giggling as she got stuck on the church railing.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

After taking the photo, I rushed in to help untangle her and her veil, all while Dan continued to laugh at the situation. I’m really pleased I captured the moment; it’s a great anecdote for them both. It\u2019s also a testament to what a great bride Danielle was\u2014she found it hilarious and just laughed about being stuck there.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

As predicted, the heavens opened midway through, proving that the choice was the right one. After the ceremony, the sun came out, and the Bride and Groom were eager to enjoy the beautiful grounds at Birtsmorton Court, where they had just gotten married.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

On a sunny afternoon, it\u2019s natural to enjoy a cold, refreshing drink, isn\u2019t it? They had both chosen their favourite drinks for the reception, and the Bride had opted for English Pale Ale. This shot was taken just after their confetti walk (you can still see some in her hair), and I love the juxtaposition between the elegance of her dress and flowers and the way she\u2019s enjoying her beer!<\/p>\r\n
