We were coming to the end of a pre-wedding shoot when I spotted this conifer in a beautiful patch of light. The couple had to wade through some long grass and undergrowth to get to the spot but it was well worth it.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

All of a sudden everything starts to feel real and this time is great for capturing heightened emotions. This moment between Carly and her mum is one of my favourites.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Angus & Dee’s gorgeous coastal elopement wedding.<\/h3>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Having such a small congregation meant that they could get married wherever they wanted, so secluded Ayrmer Cove which held lots of special memories for the couple was their choice.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Before a table was put in front of it we took the opportunity to snap this which has become one of my favourites as it’s more than a silhouette. The way they are in this photo shouts out Love even more than the sign does. This was taken at Mount Stuart on the Isle of Bute<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Single, hen, married – the wedding cycle<\/h3>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Photo by Rob Sanderson<\/a> – I love to include the surrounding architecture and the public when faced with a city centre wedding. This, outside Hard Days Night Hotel in Liverpool was just one of those moments that was just too good to miss.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

The Bride<\/h3>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Photo by Andreu Doz Photography<\/a> – We went for a Post-weddding session to Siurana (near Barcelona), a very small village on top of a mountain. It was winter and on our way up we were covered by fog. We couldn\u2019t see anything further than 3 meters away.
We thought that the session would be cancelled, but to our surprise, once we reach the village the clouds lay beneath us!
The weather conditions kept changing so it was a bit frustrating because an amazing light would come through the clouds but it won’t last for long… We manage to take very dramatic photos and this picture is one of them.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

We went down to the beach at Mawgan Porth to capture both their individual portraits as well as their couple shots. As you can see the tide was coming in so we didn’t have long on this busy beach but the shots we managed to capture were absolutely beautiful and they were totally worth getting my shoes soaking wet for….<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Nailing the first dance<\/h3>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

This was shot was taken at Rosedew Farm in South Wales. The party was held in the barn and Sophie and Sam went all out with a practiced and stylish number.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Back Seat Romance<\/h3>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

I asked them to have a little snuggle up in the back of the car. This is the result and it worked beautifully.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Hannah & Adam, NYC<\/h3>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

After the wedding ceremony we spent a couple of hours capturing photographs of their wedding adventure around Manhattan.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

The magic of hairspray!<\/h3>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Photo by Sarah Williams Photography<\/a> – I do love to capture the moment during getting ready when hairspray is being applied. It’s even better when I have a source of light in the background. This is Helen on her wedding day in May 2017 having the final touches being applied before she made her way to Lord’s Cricket Ground for her ceremony.
Although this photos works nicely in colour too, there is something about the back and white ones that really make this moment pop and those little beads of hairspray stand out even more.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

They wanted to have a romantic photo with all their friends around them, illuminated by the dim light of the flares. And this was the result.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

The couple adore the bride’s grandma and it was really important to them that we made time for a shot with her. We got her chatting and then the bride planted a big kiss on her cheek and that was all that was needed for this beautiful moment!<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Here is Sarah holding her dad, in an image I still find hard to look at. It’s images like this that explain simply and clearly why we do what we do as documentary wedding photographers.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

I wouldn’t normally desaturate a landscape photo but I wanted to try something different. I switched off my key light and opted for a mono silhouette using just a rim light camera left.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Farnham and the Veil<\/h3>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

We’d pretty much wrapped up and on their way back to their guests, they walked along this retaining wall at the bottom of the castle estate. The directional light and St Andrew’s Church laid out in the distance are set-off perfectly by Sophie’s amazing dress and her veil catching the wind. It’s an image of tonality, composition and texture and therefore simply had to be black and white.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

I was just hanging back and letting the moment happen naturally, when her lovely bridesmaids, who were commenting on how wonderful the ceremony was, asked to see the ring on her finger for the first-time. I was lucky enough to be there to capture this wonderful personal cherished moment when she realised and shared her joy at being Steve’s wife.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Lartington is completely private and exclusive with 75 acres of romantic rolling parkland and fantastic garden terraces. It fitted Becky & Bruce\u2019s style perfectly. We all enjoyed the fantastic food and partied the night away like never before!<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
