I’m delighted to share this gorgeous Italian town wedding that took place in Cefal\u00f9, Sicily, and was captured by Big Love Wedding & Event Photography.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

The Couple<\/h4>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

The bride is a journalist for a magazine that\u2019s part of the Financial Times, and the groom is a management consultant with EY. Both are based in London.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

The Proposal<\/h4>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

We were returning to Danielle\u2019s home in Australia (Perth) for Christmas, so Julian decided it was the perfect time to ask\u2014while she was with her friends and family. He proposed on Christmas morning in her childhood bedroom\u2014it was the best Christmas Day ever! We spent the next week drinking champagne as everyone wanted to celebrate with us, and with it being summer holidays in Australia, there were plenty of catch-ups and events planned.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

2.5 years. This gave us enough time to decide whether to get married in Australia, Sicily, or London and allowed our guests enough time to save for the trip!<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Please tell us a little bit about the day and how it went<\/h4>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

The day was fantastic, as you can imagine, with a setting like Cefal\u00f9, Sicily. The bride and groom were relaxed and thrilled to have such wonderful friends and family with them in Sicily. Cefal\u00f9 offered so many amazing locations for photos, and Danielle and Julian were more than happy to explore these spots to get great shots. After capturing moments around the city, we headed to the stunning reception venue, Santa Anastasia. As the sun began to set, the atmosphere was electrifying. With a warm breeze, golden sunlight, delicious Italian food, and a gorgeous couple, I felt incredibly lucky to be part of such a wonderful wedding.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Do tell us a little bit about yourself<\/h4>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

I\u2019ve been in the photographic industry for over 14 years and have loved every minute of this ever-changing and evolving field. I realised photography was my calling while working in an office after finishing my degree in Design and Tech. I missed assisting photographers while studying and wanted to return to that environment\u2014the travel, variety, and, most of all, the people! I quit my job and started assisting full time six years ago.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

How would you describe your photography style?<\/h4>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

I focus on light and atmosphere, always striving to capture spontaneous moments with great lighting. I work towards a light and fine art vibe.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

What did you love about the day?<\/h4>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

There were too many great things! Mingling with everyone at the reception while eating and drinking, the speeches as the sun was setting and people were becoming rather merry, and the reading of the personalised vows in the courtyard with all the family and friends watching with teary eyes.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

What advice would you give to couples planning their wedding day?<\/h4>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Don\u2019t spend forever searching online for ideas\u2014get out and see what\u2019s out there! And remember, people are there to see you; they won\u2019t mind if things don\u2019t go exactly to plan.<\/p>\r\n
