It’s really a personal choice<\/strong> when to set a wedding date. It could be that you would like to have a long, relaxed engagement and not give your date much thought.<\/p>\n

Perhaps, you’ve already had a long engagement and are now keen to get the ball rolling. Or maybe you just can’t wait to get hitched. Whatever your situation, it’s absolutely fine. There is no normal<\/strong> when it comes to weddings or engagements.<\/p>\n

The best way to choose when to plan your wedding date is to do so when you are both ready. Don’t feel pressure to set your date if you are getting comments or opinions. Don’t feel rushed into date setting if you need some breathing space or need to save up.<\/p>\n

    The timescales for these may wildly vary or you may tweak the order. There are no rules<\/strong>, but this order should make sense in a practical way. For example, you can’t book suppliers, until you have your date.<\/p>\n

    There are some important elements to consider when it comes to picking a wedding date. From seasons and budget to birthdays and timescales. Let me guide you every step of the way<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

    Take a moment and close your eyes<\/strong>. What do you envisage for your wedding, what is the weather, what are the sights and smells? Do you have a favourite season?<\/p>\n

    Hopefully, this conjures up a vibe for the season of your wedding. Perhaps you imagine a cosy, candlelit winter wedding<\/a> or a festive Christmas wedding<\/a>? Maybe a Halloween wedding<\/a> is your jam or an autumn wedding<\/a> with rich tones?<\/p>\n

    For wedding flowers, seasonality can impact what’s available for your wedding date. Especially if you want to be sustainable and use less mileage for your flowers.<\/p>\n

    The day of the week<\/strong> is important to think about. Generally, weekends work best for weddings, there is a reason Saturdays and bank holiday weekends are popular. And often most expensive!<\/p>\n

    If you want to party into the early hours and you don’t want your guests to head off early to bed. Then it’s important to think about work commitments<\/strong>, both for yourself and guests. Not everyone can take annual leave and some folk work shifts.<\/p>\n

    So you could try to go with the availability the majority of you and your guests can work with. That being said, you may prefer a more laid back vibe. A micro wedding<\/a> at brunch<\/strong> or an elopement<\/a>. Perhaps you think a Friday wedding would be fun to skip a day off work.     If you are hoping for a hot wedding or a snowy wedding, then you will be able to work out the best time of year to get hitched for your chosen destination<\/strong>. If you are having a destination wedding, it’s worth looking for times of the year when major weather events could occur. To then steer clear of these dates.<\/p>\n
