My name is Clare Margary and I am a 28 year old pastry chef and cake designer from Hackney, East London. In 2011 I set up the Little Bear Cakery<\/a> to follow my passion for cakes.<\/p>\n

How did you get into baking and into the wedding industry?<\/h1>\n

I\u2019ve worked in the catering industry for over 10 years but it was after studying Patisserie and Confectionery at college that I discovered my love of cake decorating. I started making cakes for friends and family and set up a blog littlebearcakery.blogspot.co.uk to record my progress. After a lot of hard work and practice, I was finally ready to set up my own cake business. As I broadened and developed my skills I naturally progressed into wedding cakes, where my passion now lies.<\/p>\n

What do you aim to achieve for your clients?<\/h1>\n

My aim is to create my clients\u2019 dream cake for their special day. Whether they know exactly what they want or if they haven\u2019t a clue where to start, I ensure I am there every step of the way to listen to their ideas and advise accordingly to come up with the perfect bespoke cake. My cakes will always fit perfectly into the client\u2019s scheme \u2013 I take inspiration from themes, d\u00e9cor, the dress, invitations \u2013 anything that will ensure that the finished product is a perfect match.<\/p>\n

What style is your work?<\/h1>\n

I take a lot of my inspiration from flowers and love creating beautifully intricate and lifelike sugar flowers. I also love the intricacy of lace and specialise in bespoke brush embroidery designs to suit any theme. For a more rustic wedding, I also create more natural \u201cnaked\u201d wedding cakes.<\/p>\n

Could you tell us some information about your pricing?<\/h1>\n

For my most popular size 6\u201d\/8\u201d\/10\u201d 3 tier cake to feed up to 120, prices start from \u00a3350 for a simple decorated cake and \u00a3250 for a \u201cnaked\u201d wedding cake.<\/p>\n

Make sure you\u2019re comfortable with them. Don\u2019t be afraid to ask questions \u2013 communication is key to ensuring you receive the end product you desire.<\/p>\n
