Tell couples about your experience and approach
My approach for the vast majority of the day is to very much let the action unfold in front of me and document that. This is true from wedding prep, through ceremony, speeches, cake cutting, and first dance. Group shots are the most 'posed' thing that I do, and even then, I don't pose them too much. I will guide though! I will give cues for our couple shoot - And I tend to have two short couple shoots. The first will be in the afternoon before dinner, and the second will be after dinner. The light tends to be more golden and more flattering at this time of the day and you may have had a couple more drinks over dinner and be more comfortable with the whole getting your photo taken. I'm just there to have fun with you guys and guide you through your wedding day.
Are you super chatty or will be you be a fly on the wall?
I'm a bit of a combination of both. I understand when to be energetic and when to sit back and be fly on the wall. I like to inject a bit of fun during your group photographs, so as to not make these boring and monotonous, and the same goes with your couples photos. These should be fun! I like to have fun with you whilst we go on a photo session. During speeches or wedding prep, I like to be a little more fly on the wall and allow the day to happen so that I can document it.
What can couples do to get the most out of their wedding photography on the day?
A lot of people will tell you to take a moment for yourselves, which you should totally do, but a piece of advice I got for my own wedding was to take a step back for a moment and watch all of your guests enjoying themselves and almost view it as an outsider.
I have a couple of mottos that I live my life by. One is, "success loves preparation". A well prepared wedding day will be a successful one, as will most other things in your life. My other motto is simple. "Don't be a dick".
What are your artistic influences?
I take inspiration from everywhere around me. I love art in all of its forms. I am inspired by the movies and cinematography of Wes Anderson. I love how Anderson uses symmetry in a lot of his scenes and I love his colour palate.
I'm also inspired by many 20th century artists, such as Andy Warhol. I love his ability to take every day objects and make art from it. In contrast to this, I take much less than every day events, such as your wedding, but still make beautiful art from it.
I'm inspired by the art of Jean Michel Basquiat. Again, despite its abstract form, I love Basquiat's ability to tell stories through his paintings, which is my style - Story telling. Images mean nothing if they don't tell a story in themselves.
I am also influenced greatly by music. I worked as a professional musician for 15 years before my music career was cut short, and there is always music on in my house when I'm working, whether it's responding to emails, editing, or planning my next wedding shoot. Music has such a great power to transport you to a different world, and I love anything musical on your wedding day.
What was your favourite wedding shoot, and why?
This is a really tough question, but my favourite weddings are those that don't conform to the norm. I love a big, beautiful country house, but I also love city centre, or a rural barn. The more personality that you're able to inject in to your wedding, the better. We won't get on if you have a generic cookie cutter wedding, but if you have a bit of personality and flair and are up for something even a little different, I'll be your best pal and chances are your wedding will be up there among my faves.
What kinds of moments are you looking to capture?
I'm here to capture the genuine moments at your wedding, and not just the moments between you two, between you and your parents, your best pals, and your favourite cousins. I'm here for the shots at the bar, for the tipsy dancing. I won't have you away for hours for awkward photos. I'll take you off for a short, informal photo session that you'll treasure forever.
Why should couples choose you as a photographer?
Because cheesy, awkward wedding photography makes me vomit in my mouth a little bit. If that's what you want, scroll on. If you're here to have fun on your wedding day and want that fun documented in beautiful photographs, we should probably chat.
Have you won awards or been published in magazines?
World's best wedding photographer - According to my past clients, and definitely my mum ✌🏻
What is the most important thing to you when you photograph weddings?
The most important thing to me is that you guys have fun and enjoy yourselves, and the more you enjoy yourselves, the better your photos will look. I'm not here for awkward, cheesy poses from 30 years ago. I'm here to have fun and make sure you guys have fun and to document that fun. It's as simple as that.

What's the most important thing couples should know about you before they book?
I'm literally here to have fun at your wedding. I'll be your 4th (or 5th) bridesmaid. I'm all about the wee tips in the morning, such as, take your flowers out of the water around 30 minutes before your ceremony and wrap them in a towel so that you don't get stains on your dresses. Speaking of flowers - Remember, hold them at your bits, not tits. And a thousand more wee tips for you guys as your day unfolds. Having shot over 75 weddings, I pick up lots of wee bits and pieces each and every wedding I'm at and I'm here to impart that knowledge and experience to you. Guys in kilts? I've got you! I'm here for it. I've dressed at least 200 guys in kilts and know exactly how they should be worn.
