Humanist Ceremony with Elopement

Firstly I will speak with you to get the plan. This could be a voice call or a video call. If island travel or remote locations are involved it is essential to get a grip of the logistics - and of course to find out about you and your hopes for the ceremony.

After booking I will want to meet with you, find out all about you and then create a dream wedding ceremony for you and deliver that ceremony with panache and flair on the day.

I love to chat to couples who have a few ideas about what they want - and also those who have everything planned! I have over ten years experience and whatever wedding planning stage you are at, I can really help you get this right.

For a more detailed breakdown, here is a timeline;

Pre-booking
I prefer a free Vibe-check video call to meet you and go over key details and answer any questions. (For Marriage ceremonies there is a statutory minimum of 28 days and I will need to speak to you to confirm suitability.)

Within 30 days of booking - If we have had a pre-booking video call, then I will confirm in writing within 14 days all the details.

If we have not spoken prior to booking then we will have a phone call or a video call to confirm details before a written confirmation of details can be issued.

Around 3-6 months before the wedding
90 minute planning meeting to confirm all the details.
If you are within 25 miles this is normally a home visit where I will come to your house/flat and go through everything with you.
For couples who live further away this can be a video call.

Up to 2 weeks later
Full copy of ceremony script provided.
This will be revised up to once a month with any changes or amendments required.

On the day
I will conduct a wedding ceremony wearing my kilt at your venue!

The fee includes; my time for meetings and correspondence, a donation to a humanist charity (we plant a tree for every ceremony we do) and my return mileage to your venue up to 400 miles (Which may include some islands and up to a £100 overnight stay).

The fee does not include: Statutory fees for marriage ceremonies are paid direct to the local registrar, at 2026 this is £100 (£45 x 2 for application forms and £10 for the marriage certificate.)
