Meet Brayden
Hi, I’m Brayden. With a last name like Wedd, it would have felt like a waste not to end up working in weddings. I’m terrible with flowers, so celebrant it was.
I’m Australian, based in London, and create modern, story-led ceremonies across the UK, as well as MCing receptions.
My approach starts with a fairly simple idea: your wedding ceremony shouldn’t feel like a formal script that the two of you have been dropped into. It should sound like you. The people sitting in the audience should recognise the relationship I’m talking about, laugh because they know exactly what I mean, and hopefully learn a few things they didn’t already know.
That’s why I write every ceremony completely from scratch.
Before I write a word, I get to know you properly. You’ll each complete an individual questionnaire about your relationship, your partner and the life you’ve built together. I also invite a selection of your closest friends and family to answer questions privately, giving me another perspective on who you are and the relationship everyone has gathered to celebrate.
That process gives me the good stuff. The stories, tiny habits, running jokes, different versions of how you met, things you secretly adore about one another, and moments that might seem completely ordinary to you but actually say something wonderful about your relationship.
Then I bring it all together.
I’m not interested in filling ceremonies with generic lines about love that could apply to any couple. I want to work out what is actually interesting, funny and meaningful about the two people standing in front of me, then tell that story properly.
The result is warm and emotional when it should be, funny when there’s something genuinely funny to say, and relaxed throughout. One of my favourite compliments is when guests assume I must have been an old friend of the couple, because that’s exactly how I want the ceremony to feel.
On the day, there’s another side to my job too. I’m there early, coordinating with your venue, photographer and other suppliers, checking the little details and making sure you don’t have to think about what’s happening behind the scenes. Call me old-fashioned, but you two should be able to just turn up and enjoy getting married, without worrying about anything else.
I also offer a Ceremony + MC service for couples who want that same approach carried through the reception. I’ll work with you on the timeline, coordinate with suppliers, introduce speeches and key moments, keep things moving and, most importantly, read the room.
Ultimately, I want your guests to leave saying two things: “That ceremony was so them”, and “Where did you find that guy?”
If that sounds like your kind of wedding, we’ll probably get along very well.
