My favourite type of ceremony is one that is full of fun and laughter, where you both feel chilled and relaxed and can simply focus on enjoying your special day. And I always try to make it as enjoyable for your guests as it is for you.
Our first step is for us to meet, whether thats in person or via a video, to start to get to know each other. We will begin to explore your ideas for your ceremony, what you may want to include, who you may want to include and collect some practical details too. Then I'll send you both a questionnaire and ask you some lovely questions about each other - and no sharing of answers! From there we will sort out any readings, I'll help you with your vows and chat about the possible inclusion of a wedding ritual if thats what youd like to include. I will make the creation of your ceremony as easy as possible for you both - thats my amazing job!
I love getting to know my couples, its critical that we all connect with each other, after all its one of the most important days of your lives. I love taking your information and crafting a cermony around you both. Your love story; your personalities; ; your quirks. My cermonies are personal, engaging and heartfelt. If you already know what you'd like to include, I will work with you to deliver just that. If you don't I have lots of ideas to share.
Where can the wedding ceremony take place? Just about anywhere you want. A country house, a wood, a marquee, a hotel, your home or garden - thats just one of the many benefits of choosing a celebrant-led ceremony. Can a Celebrant legally marry us? No, you will still need to attend to the legals via a registrar either before or after your celebration ceremony. Think of it as completing the paperwork, in the same way you would register a birth or a death. Most registrars have what they call a 2 + 2 option. That's you both and a couple of witnesses, usually for a cost of around £50 ish.(It does differ across regions). Then with the legal paperwork out of the way treat yourselves to a nice lunch somewhere...and look forward to celebrating your special day with an amazing ceremony amongst your family and friends. Why choose a celebrant? When you marry at a register office, the registrar will conduct your legal civil ceremony. There may be restrictions both to the venue and the content of the service. You are unlikely to be able to have your own decorations and may be restricted by your music choices too. You may not be allowed to share personalised vows, there may be restrictions to performing the ceremony outside. The registrar is likely to be constrained by time as they may have more than one wedding to attend to on the day. By choosing a celebrant ceremony, you have so much more creative freedom and personal choice, your ceremony is created with only you in mind. How much does it cost and are there extra costs to consider? My fees are £500 for weddings / vow renewals, and if its helpful, we can look at flexible payment options. My fee is fully inclusive, I do not charge for any support you may need in writing your vows; choosing readings, or music, or including rituals. I dont charge mileage either, unless I have to make multiple journeys to your venue, which hasn't happened yet.
