Hello I'm robbie, and I love what I do!
For me, being a celebrant isn’t simply about standing at the front and reading a ceremony. It’s about getting to know two people, discovering what makes their relationship special, and then turning their story into a ceremony that feels completely, unmistakably them.
Every couple has a story. Sometimes it’s a story that begins when you first meet. Sometimes you’ve known each other for years before suddenly realising that the person you’ve been looking for has been right there all along. There are funny moments, adventures, unexpected twists, difficult times overcome, family stories, private jokes and those little details that might seem insignificant to anyone else but mean everything to you.
Those are the things I love bringing into a ceremony.
I’m a Humanist celebrant with the Humanist Society Scotland, and I conduct warm, personal and completely non-religious wedding ceremonies throughout Scotland. Whether you’re planning a traditional Scottish wedding, an intimate celebration with your closest family and friends, or an adventurous elopement somewhere spectacular, I want your ceremony to feel relaxed, genuine and memorable.
And Scotland really is an incredible place to get married.
From Edinburgh and the beautiful Scottish Borders to the Highlands and the dramatic landscapes of the Isle of Skye, I’m lucky to work in some of the most extraordinary wedding locations in the world. I particularly love working with couples travelling from overseas who want to combine their wedding with a Scottish adventure.
I’m also a big believer that your wedding ceremony doesn’t have to follow a formula. If you want laughter, we’ll have laughter. If there are emotional moments, we won’t be afraid of those either. If you want to involve family and friends, include a favourite story, write your own vows or incorporate something completely personal, we can make it happen.
My job is to make sure that when you look back on your ceremony years from now, you don’t simply remember what was said. You remember how it felt.
Away from weddings, I love travelling, exploring Scotland and getting out into the countryside. I’m also a keen tennis player and enjoy walking and discovering new places — which probably explains why I’m particularly fond of couples who want to get married somewhere a little different!
I’ve spent a large part of my working life involved in business development and working with people, so I’m comfortable talking to just about anyone. But I also know that planning a wedding can sometimes feel overwhelming. My approach is simple: I’ll listen, I’ll guide you when you need it, and I’ll make sure the ceremony is one less thing for you to worry about.
Ultimately, I want to be more than the person you book to conduct your ceremony. I want to be someone you feel comfortable with, someone you can trust with your story, and someone who genuinely wants to help make your wedding day unforgettable.
