You’re getting married! Congratulations!!

I’m Steve, a celebrant based out of Midsomer Norton, just south of Bath.
Just to tell you a little about me, From Kent originally, I started traveling when I was 18. it was meant to be for a few months, ended up as 10 years. It was on my travels that I found my love of wild animals, and went to uni at the grand old age of 29 to study. Ive been back twice since, and hold 3 Biological degrees. I've had a rather varied work life life. and have spent most of my working life in zoos, safari parks etc in the UK, Middle East and Africa. there has also been a couple of spells of teaching, both in schools and colleges, and a fair number of 'fill in' jobs (still got to pay the bills!).

I also have a very unusual USP, but more about that later.

When planning your ceremony, I work with you, get to know you, learn your history and most importantly learn the love story that brought you together. I’ll plan everything from when you walk in as two people, until you leave as one. I’ll write and tell that love story, join your lives together in the sight of everybody you hold most dear, and present you to the world as the beautiful, unique couple you are.
But this is your ceremony, and my opening question is always “What do you want?” Of course I don’t leave the question hanging; I have plenty of ideas and examples to get the creative ball rolling, but I’m guessing you already have at least a very rough outline in your heads. My job is to make it happen, and if you want something a bit more unusual, I am so up for that!
I have been asked why I do this. I’m a people person, always have been. I love meeting new people, helping them and hopefully introducing some joy into their lives. Plus I’m one of those weirdoes who actually enjoys talking to a room full of mostly strangers. But it’s those moments of delight, those smiles that light up rooms, eyes sparking with tears of joy and that wave of energy from the onlookers that makes this role for me, there really is nothing quite like it.

Now, that USP I mentioned earlier. I appreciate that it’s a little late, or a bit early for most of you, but I do offer one rather unusual premium service around a certain time of year. I am also a Santa Claus, and I am more than happy to marry you as Big Red.
