I’m a pagan, but one who believes that “the gods” are real only in the sense that they are tools we use to make sense of a universe that’s bigger than we are. Atheist, agnostic, pagan and multi-faith celebrations are my usual start points.

Cool, calm, unflappable. And at the same time inventive, creative and fun! I have been conducting all kinds of celebrations and ceremonies for years. I know all the rules of ritual and symbolism so that whatever we put together feels just right for you, whether it’s a simple elopement or an epic for the ages - and I know the rules well enough to break them on occasion. I listen, and then I write, so you get something that’s yours and no-one else’s. My goal is to make you delighted with your ceremony. I only ever take one celebration a day, and it’s always all about you. My delivery style is professional, with flair and confidence. I work with your photographer and videographer so the pictures are of you, not me. I’m completely non-judgmental, and I’ve proudly conducted same-sex and poly celebrations. Love is love, let’s celebrate it together.

I just love art, and sometimes I even make it (I also have a small jewellery business). I love art before history, particularly British “Celtic” art, Bronze Age symbolism and “Viking” art, but really anything except abstract modernism. In literature I love the people who make language work for them, whether that’s in poetry like T S Eliot and Seamus Heaney or in prose like Mervyn Peake or Mick Herron. There’s little I like better than the challenge of taking a TV script or a novel and re-working it into a custom celebration for a ‘themed and costumed’ event - but every event deserves an articulate, perfectly crafted poetic voice.

I think I was born to be a celebrant. For me it’s a calling, not a job. I love starting with a blank sheet of paper and designing something that “gets you” I love the words, the symbols and the presentation, writing and delivering something which is uniquely yours.

When you book me you get my full attention. Unlimited calls and if it’s practical to meet in person then we will. On the day there is no clock so if there’s a delay your end it’s fine. I don’t need feeding and I won’t hang around after the celebration unless there’s something else that you’d like to hire me for! I don’t accept celebrations with explicitly Christian, Islamic or other main religious elements, though I’m happy to have multi-faith elements from animistic traditions.

Venues I’ve worked at include: Pendrell Hall, Portchester Castle, Ruthin Castle, Clearwater Castle, Lawton Woods near Alcester, Hay Bales farm, local woodlands, back gardens, historic sites such as Castell Henllys, Middleton Hall, Rowton Castle, Wood Hall Farm, hotels and the Wolverhampton Heritage Centre.
