I like to try and get a good balance between being chatty and getting on with things. My style is all about being in the right place at the right time so whist I'm always happy for a quick chat - it will be a quick one.
I've had numerous "real weddings" published in several wedding magazines, I get asked to provide editorial several times a year together with photos and have won awards from Wedisson, This is Reportage, Masters of Wedding Photography, and more and won the Hitched Wedidng photography Suffolk 2 years in a row.
I'll capture your wedding day using "FILM" photography. I'll be using my 1984 Nikon FA and Leica M10 to be able to give you images that are pure romance and art. It's your wedding, not my photoshoot, so I always put couples first. Which means mostly I'm around but not in the way, I get shots of all the "moments" without fuss or any interference, I know how to be in the right place at the right time. I've photographed over 300 weddings - I get things right !. My photos have won many awards with the likes of "Masters of Wedding Photography", "Wedisson", "The International Society of Professional Wedding Photographers", and so on. I've had nearly 100 reviews spread around the Internet - the average is 4.9 out of 5 stars. I love what I do and am passionate about giving every couple the very best images possible of their day.
Saul Leiter. My most admired photographer ever. He was a New York street photographer in the 50's, 60's and 70's and captured the most wonderful shots. Whilst he never photographed a wedding his artistic values inspire me every day.
As I've said I get mostly documentary shots where you'll hardly realise I'm taking a photo - but - just occasionally with a small adjustment the photo can go from good to stunning so I might just ask you to move or do something again. When it comes to the couple shots I "stage" the set up. So I'll choose somewhere with good light and background then ask you to stand or sit on a particular way - then it's dopwn to you. I want YOU to come through in the photos rather than some pose that's been done a million times. So my advice is "be natural - but also don't forget you just got married - Be Happy!"
It's crucial to get all the "expected" shots- Bride walking up the aisle, first kiss, confetti and all the rest - but - also to be aware every second of the day what's happening and what will be the next great documantary shot, where I should stand, what gear I need and where's the best light.
Actually I think I've shot at all the top wedding venues in East Angia but always love to get back to, Gosfield Hall, Easton Grange, Houchins, Woodhall Manor, Ravenwood Hall, Ivy House, as well as dozens of beautiful churches.
My aim is to capture many different and varied "moments". From the brides Mum when she realises just how beautiful her daughter actually is, to the groomsmen being crazy out in the garden. They all make great photos and combined tell the story of this wedding.
I'm totally professional - from 1st contact to delivering the gallery, album and videos. I have (touch wood!) never missed a wedding for any reason and if things do go wrong I do have Wendy who is my 2nd shooter who could stand in. I LOVE FILM PHOTOGRAPHY so my package includes about 180 real 5x8 prints taken with my 2 film cameras using Kodak Portra400 film but also to ensure no important moments are missed I use digital too for the key moments so you'll also get about 200 digital images on a Usb. The BEST of BOTH WORLDS !
I really couldn't pick a favourite! There must be at least a dozen where, for various reasons, they're memorable and I particularly like the photos - there's some in mid-summer when it was like 30c and Josh and Becky's in December in a Tippee when it only got to -1c and snowed.
Venues? Wow - so many - I've proabaly shot at over 100!
Why choose me? So here's what a few of the reviews from past couples have mentioned, "relaxed and easygoing and so helpful on our day", "always around but never in the way", "got every photo we could have hoped for", "omg - fantastic photos!", "so many guests said what a lovely guy".... But for me I'd say it's all about the photos. Every wedding photographer claims to have a "style" - some are fun, some use huge long lenses, some stage manage every shot. But my style of relaxed and natural documentary photography with only light editing (unlike some photographers' "always summer" looks) gives couples World Class wedding photos that capture your day perfectly.
