A bit about me. I'm a singer-songwriter based in the North East and I perform for a living, week in week out. I've supported major artists, played BBC Introducing stages, and had original music on UK and German radio. Mostly what that means for your day is that I've done this enough times to set up quietly, keep to your timings, and roll with it when the speeches run twenty minutes over :-)
Daytime is deliberately laid back (if you want it to be). Sixty minutes of solo acoustic through your drinks reception, stripped-back versions of songs people know.
Evening is where it lifts. Seventy-five minutes of party style material, and I bring out a foot pedal stomp box for this one, which adds a kick drum underneath the guitar. It gives the whole thing a lot more drive and it's usually what gets people up. I can split the 75 minutes into two sets if your running order needs it, around the cake cutting, first dance, or a DJ changeover.
Every cover I play is my own take on it rather than a note-for-note copy, so the same song can sit quietly in the background at four in the afternoon and go off at nine at night. I'll get people clapping and singing along when that's the mood, or stay subtle while everyone talks, your call, and I'm happy to switch it up as the day goes on. Genre-wise I cover everything from classics to present day, and I'll happily take a 2000s RNB track or a 90s dance anthem and turn it into something that works on acoustic guitar.
How it works. Once you book, I'll send you a short questionnaire covering your timings, your venue, and the songs that matter to you. From there I'll build both sets around your taste, and if there's a song that means something to you and it isn't already in my repertoire, I'll learn it.
