I can be both. Depends on situation. My main focus is always capturing the best moments of the day so I will ignore chats when I'm busy. When I do have time I love to chat to my couples or their guests and share experiences and stories.
My approach to wedding videography is simple: I capture those spontaneous and candid moments from a safe distance using natural light. Non intrusive style of filming allows me to capture realistic reactions and emotions which unfold naturally through out the day. All of my films are carefully crafted to evoke emotion so you can relive your special day whenever you decide to watch your film. I believe that spontaneous moments are the most sincere and when you mix them with a bit of laughter and silliness you get a perfect product.
I love cinematography and I can watch anything from Christopher Nolan, David Villeneuve or Quentin Tarantino and I am obsessed with Wes Anderson aesthetic and distinct storytelling and I find him so inspiring for wedding cinematography as well as Jacquemus fashion designer. There is a few fellow wedding cinematographers I admire as well.
I always seek for emotion. If you see me suddenly turning my camera at your direction it's probably cause you are crying, smiling or you just look great. I am a big fan of silly moments as well so I do encourage my couples and guests to act as natural as they can and try to forget about all the cameras, cause your film should feel and look natural and candid, not like a staged, posey movie scene.
I love couples shoot. After a busy and hectic morning, ceremony and speeches it feels like couple shoots are always most relaxed. I always have a good laugh with my couples and that's why my favourite shoot must be a golden hour couples shoot in a field with sun almost setting behind them at the horizon.
