Hi Sian-Louise, could you firstly tell WWW readers a little bit about you?

Hello! I’m Sian-Louise, founder of Dust and Things. I have always had two parallel interests; a passion for practical crafts, and a keen interest in the natural world. I live with my (business) partner Mike, a grumpy cat and a very happy poodle named Robin.

One of my life goals is to tend a herd of deer and I drink far too much tea!

What do you love about your job?

It’s a bit strange, but one of my favourite things about my job is packaging the Wedding items up ready for transit to their new home. There’s something so delightful about receiving something that you can tell has had thought and care put into it – I hope every one of our packages is opened with a smile.

How did you get into the wedding industry?

I recently graduated in Environmental Conservation. Whilst studying I enjoyed learning but I missed being creative.

During my second year, a dear friend threw a crafty life-line at me to create some nature themed things for her Wedding day. I jumped at the chance. Immediately I felt inspired and my spark returned. The honour and happiness I felt at seeing my creations amongst a sea of smiling faces at such a special day made my heart burst and I knew I had to do more.

What do you aim to achieve for your clients?

We like to provide keepsake items for couples who are looking for a down-to-earth, personal wedding.

What style are your items?

We love all things rustic, vintage and boho – we think these styles of items speak volumes in charm and character.

Could you tell us some information about your prices?

One of most loved Wedding lines are our premium rustic, natural, vintage and boho Wedding favours and place settings – many are engraved and personalised for each guest.

Our most economical priced place settings start at £19 for a set of ten.

Do you have any tips for couples in selecting a Wedding product supplier?

My advice would be to always go with your gut instinct. Organising a wedding can be stressful enough without the hassle of dealing with unreliable, inexperienced businesses. Choose a company you have faith in and one that believes in their own products.
