Hi Ilaria, could you firstly tell WWW readers a little bit about you?

Well… I am originally from Italy and lived in the UK for the past 14 years. I love eating food much more than I enjoy cooking it… I am a fitness nerd and I am totally obsessed with nail polishes.

I never had a McDonald burger in my life.

I married the man of my dreams last year and we are living our “happily ever after” in our newly bought home in Berkshire.

How did you get into photography and into the wedding industry?

After years of feeling miserable working in the Telecom industry I decided I wanted to follow my heart and do what I loved every day.

I always had an interest in photography, meaning… I was the “paparazzo friend” always ready to snap a shot wherever I went, but somehow I put my passions away for many years.

Capturing the moment, connections and emotions has always been hugely important to me and as a total incurable daydreamer and romantic, when I started photographing weddings everything around me just became a billion times better and so did I.

I immediately knew that is what I was meant to be doing.

Tell us about your typical working day.

There isn’t one! That is what I LOVE so much about what I do.

Every day is an adventure. Literally.

What do you aim to achieve for your clients?

My aim is to give my clients my absolute best. I am so grateful for all the couples that pick me and trust me to be their wedding photographer.

It is my number one priority to provide the best service I possibly can throughout the whole process; the first enquiry, the face to face meeting, the booking process, discussing the wedding schedule, timings, the wedding day itself of course… all the way to delivering the images and beyond.

What style is your work?

My style is Natural, romantic and fun with an editorial spin to it. I like to keep my images clean, simple and natural and work with my couples in a very relaxed way.

I am very blessed to be working with clients that trust me with my photographic voice and creativity.

How do you make a bride and groom relax in front of your camera?

I talk to them behind my lens. I make them laugh, most times at my expense but I am totally OK with that! This helps my clients relax and feel comfortable and just enjoy the moment which always leads to beautiful, natural and fun images.

What lighting equipment do you use?

I am a natural light photographer which means that I use natural light whenever possible and for as long as I can with the exception of the evening reception of course where use of flash is necessary.

Where would you love to shoot a wedding next?

I am dying to shoot in Italy! I was born there and it is absolutely gorgeous. And the light is just beautiful… which reminds me of another place I would love to shoot next… Paris, of course!

Do you have any tips for couples in selecting their photographer?

It is totally cliché’ but it’s also very true… after the wedding day, the only tangible things you are left with are your images so my advice is to take your time and invest in that one photographer that you really love and trust. There are so many amazing photographers out there, each with his own style and unique voice.

Once you found someone who’s work you are in love with, drop them an email and set up a face to face or even a Skype meeting. It is important to love their company and personality as much as you do their work.
