Creative Brides put together this gorgeous shoot today and I am thrilled to share the results here on WWW. Taking inspiration from the stunning industrial shed venue they transformed the space with copious blooms, stylish paper goods and perfect styling.

I really love the bridal looks and the mix of fabric flowers and the greenery flower crown. Not to mention the spoon table plan and show stopping metallic cake creation.

“Set in the estate of Chafford Park, which features a beautiful country house, woodlands full of bluebells and 2 perfectly unrefined granary sheds. The venue inspired the Eco Bloom theme as we wanted to highlight the use of old objects and furniture found in the old barns at Chafford Park.

By combining materials such as wood and foliage with metals and stone, the styling for this shoot showcased organic beauty in the industrial setting of old cattle sheds. Hints of pretty décor were intertwined into the shoot to soften the rural exposed bricks and corrugated metal walls. With light, delicate flowers and a gold gilded cake carefully decorated with flowers to bring in a softer feel to the scenes.

With the industrial trend becoming increasingly popular we decided to put a ‘Creative Brides’ twist of this theme by adding hand crafted elements such as the bar we made from old wooden crates.”

Charlotte Laurie Designs: “Soft muted colours are so popular with brides today I wanted to combine this with beautiful bouquets and accessories like chair backs and favours that people could treasure forever.”

Wild Rose Photography: “I love being part of styled shoots. As a photographer it creates a fantastic opportunity to be able to be adventurous and a little more daring than with a client. When I learnt that the title of the shoot was Eco Blooms, I knew that I was going to be in my element. I love shooting with natural locations, textures and colours so the shoot was perfect for me. The location at Chafford Park is stunning. The gardens and grounds are perfect for sneaking a bride and groom off for those more natural intimate moments, and the house provides a beautiful backdrop for more formal portraits. It certainly wasn’t difficult to be inspired by this unique venue!”

Darling and Wild: “The woodland and barn setting for this photo shoot inspired me to use English, seasonal flowers in the bouquets. They are delicate and airy, using sweet peas for that all important scent, aquilegia which has a lovely nodding little flower, delicate feathery astilbe and peonies.

For the rustic barn I filled an old milk churn with flowers, this is a lovely alternative to a traditional pedestal and works well in any country setting. Tables were dressed with similar flowers as the bouquets, using small glass bottles you only need a few stems to get a great effect.”

Lynda Loves: “My inspiration for the stationery was based on earthy, rural colours, complemented with rustic gold envelopes lined with a leafy, floral illustration. Calligraphy and a sans serif typeface were used throughout the suite, along with an illustration of the couples initials around two arrows, printed in a deep wine red. This was also carried through onto the reverse of the invites, table cards and menus, featuring Marsala, the chosen Pantone colour for 2015. Each piece of stationery was given a rounded edge, adding a softness and relaxed theme to the wedding.”

How To Style Open Spaces

Styling a blank space such as the granary sheds at Chafford Park can seem intimidating due to their large, airy and simple structure, however once you fill the space with happy people enjoying your special day, the space will feel very different.

With a few tricks a blank canvas can be styled perfectly for a romantic wedding or a great space to host your festival style wedding. With the industrial trend becoming increasingly popular, it’s great to use the props to set different scenes within the space.

Here are our top tips to create a cosy wedding in an open venue such as Chafford Park:

FABRIC | Create optical illusions by lowering the ceiling with design ideas such as fabric draping. At Chafford Park in one of the granary sheds there is a chandelier from which you can hang beautiful, dreamy fabrics. This a clever way to make high ceilings feel less imposing.

PROPS | With the larger shed one of the walls opens completely onto the field, although you may feel that this would make the space larger it actually gives you the perfect opportunity to bring nature into the room, this could be done with small trees and shrubs, making the space appear smaller.

LIGHTING | Lighting in a venue is key to creating a warm, cosy atmosphere. With both sheds having electricity we were able to hang festoon lights along the ceiling, these cast a glow into the sheds.

DIVIDE | Make the divide. In the larger shed make the most of the size by separating the space into different areas. A dance floor complete with a wooden palette bar brings a sense of fun to the venue. Rustic tables made from recycled doors can be set up for a dinner area where guests can indulge in delicious food. Finally a lounge area that can spill into the surrounding field will provide comfort to the industrial style sheds and a chance for guests to rest their aching feet.

SEATING | Really make the most of the large space, no more cramped seating arrangements. Spread out tables, play around with the layout, break from the norm and place the top table in the centre of the room rather than at the side. Experiment with different seating, we used hay bales for seating adding to the theme of the shoot. The great thing about Chafford Park is that it is open to all design ideas and you are not restricted.

LITTLE TOUCHES | Finer touches such as pretty flowers and cute trinkets can add the final flourishes that make your wedding seem more romantic and intimate for your guests. Create a scene for your cake table, we placed the cake on a wooden desk surrounded by decorative details. Place large vases such as milk churns full of flowers around the venue, not only do these arrangements fill any gaps, they also look beautiful.
