We’re headed into the country with Kathryn and Nicholas and their wedding held on the 8th August 2015. They chose the church where where Kathryn’s parents were married and where she was christened, so it had real meaning to the family. The Norfolk Courtyard then hosted the celebrations in a lovely marquee filled to the brim with pretty.
The sage green and lilac colour scheme was darling, with the bridesmaids in multi-way gowns, fresh blooms and bunting all in matching hues.
Love love love Kathryn’s rose filled hair style and the vibrant blue suit donned by Nicholas. Many thanks to Fuller Photography for sharing these gorgeous images with us today.

THE PROPOSAL | Freedom Beach, Koh Tao, Thailand, 20th August 2014.
I had carried the engagement ring around with me for 10 days before there was a good opportunity to propose. My sister was with us and she was carrying the ring with her on the day. After we did some snorkelling, I left Kathryn to order drinks and when I came back (with the ring) she asked me why I looked so sheep-ish – I then got down on one knee in the shallow waters and she said yes!
THE VISION | Country wedding theme. We wanted to have the service in the church where Kathryn’s parents were married and where she was christened. We were glad to find a reception venue that would give us a relaxed garden party feel.
THE PLANNING PROCESS | The big decisions turned out to be more straight forward than we thought. It was the many smaller decisions that we took longer to make! We were glad to take time over the details as it is this that made it unique and reflective of us.
THE VENUE | The Norfolk Courtyard, Westfield Farm, Foxley Road, Dereham, Norfolk, NR20 5RH – Absolutely stunning. Katherine and Simon were fabulous!
THE DRESS & ACCESSORIES | The dress was a v-neck, lace, fit and flare gown by Ti Adora, from The Frock Spot, Norwich.
Rachel Simpson shoes and pearl earrings from Aurum Jewellers and Designers, Norwich.
FINDING THE DRESS | After going to several wedding fairs, some of the larger local stores were keen to press that they felt I did not have a lot of time to order a dress. However, the lovely ladies at The Frock Spot reassured me that there was plenty of time. Their family-run business made it a warm and welcome experience.
GROOM’S ATTIRE | Blue slim-fit Suit by Sleek Street, Slaters, Norwich. Lilac silk ties and pocket squares with Ted Baker brogue-style light brown shoes.
THE READINGS & MUSIC | The Groom’s sister, Emma-Jane Oetterli, read ‘Blessing for a Marriage’ by James Dillet Freeman.
Our chosen hymns were: Morning has Broken, Lord of all Hopefulness and Amazing Grace.
BEAUTIFUL BRIDESMAIDS | Maid of Honour: Ellen Mitchell, Rachel Cornish (Bride’s sister), Emma-Jane Oetterli (Groom’s sister) and Amber Cornish (Flower girl).
THE FLOWERS | Pick-a-Lily, Norwich. Sage and Lilac colour theme.
THE CAKE | 3 tier with white icing and beautifully crafted sugar flowers made by the Maid of Honour’s mother (Mrs J Mitchell).
YOUR PHOTOGRAPHER | Karen at Fuller Photography – absolutely superb!
THE DETAILS & DÉCOR | Bunting (sage and lilac), Formula 1 table names and chocolate F1 racing car favours.
THE HONEYMOON | A 10 day all-inclusive break in Mauritius, booked through Beth at Kuoni Travel, Norwich.
MEMORABLE MOMENTS | Confetti throw – everyone looking happy. Dancing the night away with my new wife and all our nearest and dearest.
The band, a five-piece vintage Mumford and Sons style, made the evening. They were called The Rustiques.
ADVICE FOR OTHER COUPLES | Go for it! Get what you want – it’s your day!
