We’re getting all dark and mythical today. This set of striking images was the vision of Rubie Love Photography and she hoped to create a fairytale magical vibe to inspire couples.
I adore the portraits with Reef the Friesian stallion, the stunning gown, dramatic styling and sensational floral arrangements. There are so many steal-worthy ideas here today folks. Thanks so much to Rubie Love Photography for sharing these wonderful shots with us.
“So I came up with this idea a little before Christmas. I am completely in love with horses, weddings and fairytales. I wanted to create something that combined all three of those things, while still keeping it beautiful I wanted a slightly dark feel to it. Winter is one of my favourite times of year so there is a lot of influence of the Ice Queen from Narnia. My suppliers are all amazing people who came up with some wonderful ideas of their own to tie in with the theme. I wanted to give them as much creative control as they wanted to show off their skill sets. Plus they all tolerated my craziness, locking everyone out of the lodge at 6am, being up at 6am and being freezing cold in the January rain! I can’t thank them enough it was an inspiring collaboration!”

“Sherrie Warwick who did the hair and make up worked absolute magic on Isabella, frosty eye lashes, glitter cheeks and just coming up with two gorgeous looks. She also made the head dress for the second look. She is incredible and wonderful to work with. Sherrie has had many years experience in both media and weddings. She is awesome!”

“Lucy Day is just an incredible florist! Her enthusiasm and skill is just amazing. She created two bouquets, two centre pieces and came armed with some amazing props. She also provided the table, chair and fur. The flowers were just stunning and tied in perfectly with the theme. Lucy steered clear of the tight bouquets and went with a looser feel to them, keeping it slightly wild and very fairytale.”

“Reef the Friesian stallion. He tolerated a very scary skirt and behaved like a true gent and of course his lovely owner Mari who did me a huge favour by bringing him over to the venue and making him look so stunning.”

“The venue was Kentfield Estate near Tonbridge and is just incredible. Ian has only just opened the place up to weddings this year. A stunning lake, beach and African hut are the main features. Set in a beautiful meadow surrounded by woodland. The perfect place for a marquee or tipi wedding. Ian is such a nice guy as well, he has worked tirelessly to turn the estate into what it is now. Conservation is top priority for him and he is the most generous host providing us with hot food and drinks all morning and driving us round in the defender.”

“I really need to thank Isabella my model as well. She was perfect, put up with cold rain and provided me with the look I wanted wonderfully. I loved working with her.”

“Stationery was provided by Tayjal Mistry of Mani’s Creative Services and she was super! I absolutely love her modern twist on the theme and the gold leaf details were just beautiful. She did a great job on getting the stationery to us in fast time and is just lovely to work with.”
