You don’t often think of winter weddings as light, bright, pretty and soft do you? I think that’s why I especially love this celebration today. This also must be the first 2016 wedding I’ve featured, that always deserves a little fist pump right?
WWW readers Leigh-Ann and Robby were married on the 16th January 2016 at the Moonraker Hotel in Wiltshire. They envisioned a rustic style day with all of their nearest and dearest in attendance. Much of the sweet décor was home made, with Leigh-Ann crafting the stylish stationery herself.
The florals looked gorgeous in pink hues, I am totally coveting Leigh-Ann’s gorgeous hair do, it’s one of my faves for a while. I think you’ll enjoy this lovely day.
Thanks so much to Captured by Katrina for sharing these utterly dreamy photographs.

THE PROPOSAL | Robby proposed on a Friday night whilst we were sharing a pizza in front of the TV! It was totally unexpected, and totally perfect. I couldn’t finish the pizza!
THE VISION | It was always going to be a winter wedding with rustic details. A relaxed day surrounded by the people that matter most.
THE PLANNING PROCESS | We had just over a year to plan, and had the venue booked within a month of being engaged. The photographer, DJ and casino followed soon after. I spent a lot of time on Pinterest and wedding blogs gathering ideas for decorations and flowers. I spent A LOT of time hand-making the invitations, spending hours at a time stamping individual letters onto the front of each one!
THE VENUE | We wanted a venue with character, and somewhere you could have stunning photos both inside and out. The Moonraker Hotel in Bradford-on-Avon was perfect with its open fires and log burners, beamed ceiling and rustic greenhouse marquee. Outside there was the walled garden, open fields and plenty of sheds for those quirky photos! We loved how the venue was full of soft comfy seating where our guests could relax.
Our guests feasted on slow cooked beef joints followed by sticky toffee pudding. Everybody loved how they could carve the meat themselves as they were served on platters down the centre of the tables.
THE DRESS & ACCESSORIES | I wore a Mark Lesley dress style 5071 from Special Day and Appletons in Keynsham. My fur stole was from a shop on Etsy. My beautiful hair flowers along with the bridesmaids hair flowers were from a florist in Bath – The Floral Touch.
FINDING THE DRESS | Myself, my mum and my sister went around four dress shops. But there was only one dress, and that was the only one I tried on more than once, and in the end chose.
GROOM’S ATTIRE | All of the groomsmens suits were hired from Moss Bros.
THE READINGS & MUSIC | We chose not to have readings. I walked into an acoustic version of ‘Here comes the sun’ by the Beatles. Then we walked out to ‘I’m a Believer’ from the film Shrek!
BEAUTIFUL BRIDESMAIDS | My sister was my bridesmaid, and I had my three little nieces, who were 9 months, 3 and 5 years as flower girls.
THE FLOWERS | Sophie, the wedding coordinator and in-house florist at The Moonraker did the most amazing job of the flowers. My bouquet was even more beautiful than I could ever have imagined. She also put together the beautiful aisle and table flowers as well as the buttonholes, corsages and bridesmaid bouquet and flower girls posies.
THE CAKE | We chose a tower of cheese for a wedding cake. I surprised Robby on the day with the personalised cake toppers. With Robby being such a big cricket fan, I was going to get that into the day somewhere! Boogiebabys made the most amazing cake toppers, personalising Robby with a cricket bat and pads. The detail of my dress and flowers on the topper was very impressive.
YOUR PHOTOGRAPHER | Katrina Bartlam (Captured by Katrina) documented our day beautifully. There were so many photos of happy faces and laughter, exactly what we wanted our day to be full of.
THE DETAILS & DÉCOR | We tried to keep the décor as rustic and home made as possible. My mum made the bunting used in the greenhouse marquee and the table numbers were just glitter card on floristry wire. We used tea lights in jam jars on the rustic long banquet tables in the marquee.
A casino got the evening under way where our guests played with fun money and the winner on the night left with a bottle of champagne! We also had a DJ keeping the dance floor filled all night!
THE HONEYMOON | We had the most fantastic time in South Africa shortly after the wedding, taking in the sights of Cape Town and surroundings and then onto a private game reserve.
MEMORABLE MOMENTS | Robby was so nervous about standing up in front of everybody during the ceremony, but he soon relaxed when it was me who messed up the words and had to repeat them again! We will also never forget climbing over the rusty field gate into a muddy field, but it was worth it to get the wonderful photographs!
ADVICE FOR OTHER COUPLES | Don’t feel like you have to be traditional with every aspect of your wedding if it really isn’t you. We chose not to have a first dance, because everyone knows Robby never dances!
