Natural Festival Feel Tipi Wedding Ideas

I love nothing better than a bunch of creative wedding folk coming together and sharing their talents. This wedding shoot had a distinctly bohemian vibe, with uber cool gowns and whimsy blooms in a tipi setting.

I have to say the moss and succulent laden tables looked superb and it is such a striking way to decorate a wedding reception. Get your pinning fingers at the ready WWWers.

“I decided to coordinate the shoot following the Indie Wedding Fair, a laid back festival-style wedding fair in the North West for which we had hired in five giant tipis. It seemed silly to only use them for a day, as they provide such a beautiful backdrop and I roused a whole host of willing professionals who loved the idea of collaborating on a tipi based shoot. I couldn’t resist hanging on to the incredible moss and succulent-laden wonderland display from the fair itself, too! …Or getting Wimbledon, the beautiful horse, in on the action.

I wanted to capture a real earthy feel, with some chic festival flair. A reflection of the rustic and natural environment which lay host to the shoot, really. In the tipis, I used soft ruscus and asparagus fern as table runners and décor on the chargers to bring the outdoor indoors. I LOVE a bit of foliage and the rich greens really complement the orange hue of the tipis in the daylight. We had Moroccan style cushions and reindeer skins to bring a bit of colour, fun (and warmth!) to the shoot.

My vision overall was for it to be an integration of outdoor and indoor (thankfully we were blessed with splendid weather, especially considering it was April) with subtle, bespoke gowns that screamed understated elegance, and delicate accessories, again that oozed class rather than razzle dazzle. Classically bohemian, with a few soft touches here and there, you might say.”
