Dreamy & Luxe Autumn Wedding Ideas

We’re getting all luxe in the country today with these divine wedding ideas, curated and shot by Suzanne Li Photography. The setting, Windmill Barn, based near Edinburgh in Scotland is a real gem. The gardens combined with the barn make the perfect backdrop to this dreamy set of imagery, which features bountiful bouquets laden with dahlias and gorgeous styling. Not to mention exquisite calligraphy stationery, delicate jewels and stylish attire. I warn you, your Pinterest boards will be crammed full of these delightful photos by the end of this feature.

“Windmill Barn is such a unique little place, which has been recently transformed into a wedding venue. I photographed a lovely wedding here last summer and in my mind I was thinking, “ I have to come back here! I need to set up a shoot. I love this place!” I spoke with Clare (who runs the place) and she was so welcoming and was also excited about what I would have planned for the shoot!”

“When you look at Windmill Barn from the images, you literally get a little confused as to where you could be – it’s almost like a Tuscan farm!”

“Next up I knew exactly who I wanted to work with in the floral department. I had met with Julie from A Curious Arrangement early summer just to chat over coffee about our love for weddings and talking briefly about future photo-shoots together (before I knew I wanted to shoot in Windmill Barn).   When the time came, I had the idea of large floral statement pieces that I wanted for the shoot and I just knew I needed Julie on board and that she’d create the style that I’m after. Her work is stunning, unique and wild – just what I love!”

“The stunning Paloma Blanca dress was from Bridal Atelier Scotland – another supplier who are a new and up in in Scotland! I arrived at Bernadette and Christine’s beautiful boutique in Loch Lomond and off we went to pick some dresses for the shoot. She had a wide range but I decided on something really light and floaty to tie in with the relaxed wedding style we have going on.”

“I was super inspired by the barn itself, it always looks and feels so warm. Looking at certain parts of the barn you feel like you’re in Tuscany! So I wanted a colour pallete that will not only tie in with the barn but also mixing it in with the month of October, the month that you see a lot of purple and orange tones. So we used warm tones with a some marsala and a pop of black and purples. We had the talented Laura E Patrick to do some calligraphy work on the invitations and the agate glasses too, which was a little bit different from any other place cards- you can basically have it as a wedding favour.”

“Every single supplier had really worked their magic with this shoot and I am so glad that we have had this chance to create something so beautiful and inspirational to all brides!”
