You can just feel the summer party vibes right from the get go today. Oh how it makes me yearn for long balmy summer days, light evenings under the stars and get togethers with dear loved ones. This wedding was bright and fun, oozing with all the colours of the rainbow, complete with happiness and sunshine throughout. Pretty blooming perfect if you ask me, prepared to be inspired folks.
WWW readers Adelle and David tied the knot on the 12th August 2017 at The Party Field in East Sussex. They had a handfasting outdoor ceremony against a backdrop of blooms and balloons, followed by a great big party in the field with tipi tents and glamping galore. The relaxed vibes were cemented by all of their cool choices. The catering included a BBQ, pizza truck, ice cream on tap and horse box bar. Then there were the fun games; with tug of war, bucking bronco and a cake competition. Guests were in for a real treat.
I totally love the outfits here too with Adelle donning a stunning Laure de Sagazan gown and Rime Arodaky top accessorised with a flower crown, and David wore a navy waistcoat, chinos and converse. Do weddings get any cooler?
On hand to capture everything was the fab Epic Love Story. I love these candid and fun images today, especially that smoke bomb group shot, amaze!

THE PROPOSAL | David took me to Eastwell Manor in Ashford for the weekend, went for a nice meal in the restaurant and then David proposed on one knee. Very romantic.
THE VISION | Laid back, handfasting ceremony, funky festival style, informal party style, family friendly, colourful, “Love Fest” wedding fabric festival wristbands, with entertainment and quirky details.
THE PLANNING PROCESS | We decided on the theme and then rang lots of suppliers for prices, and any ideas to keep the budget down.
THE VENUE | The Party Field, Lewes
THE DRESS & ACCESSORIES | Laure De Sagazan Dress
Rime Arodaky Lace Top
FINDING THE DRESS | The Mews Bridal Shop in Notting Hill.
GROOM’S ATTIRE | Sea Blue Hugo Boss Trousers and waistcoat, Converse.
THE FLOWERS | Ginger Lily Brighton – Preston Park, we wanted natural flowers, with a festival style pretty soft coloured loose bouquet. I loved the bouquet and flowers they were a perfect mixture of textures, and colours, and complimentary sizes. The English roses smelt divine too!
We also requested a flower arch for saying our vows in front of, with matching colour themes to the invitations, flowers, and wristbands. I asked for some balloons to be mixed into the flowers, to add fun, drama and a playful quality to the day. This was very popular, with many people taking photos in front of it! It had a lovely romantic quality to it too. The flowers on the table had a delicate wild field feel to them, with blues pinks and grasses.
THE CAKE | We had a cake competition so had a variety of different styles.
THE DETAILS & DÉCOR | We had a tipi style tent, and the flower arch to set a festival scene. We hired an illuminated LOVE sign that looked great on the coconut mat dance floor. The throws over the hay bales added a relaxed feel. We had a cake competition that added a cool fun part of the day, and was useful for varied desserts keeping the cost down a bit. There were some nice champagne and garden incense stick prizes too! This went down really well.
We had the ceremony in front of the flower arch in front of our family and friends, that stood or sat on hay bales around us in a semi circle. Glenda brought an assistant to help her with the wedding ceremony, she was professional and completed the wedding professionally but in a relaxed way. We were tied by our wrists with ribbons of love, and jumped the broomstick into a new future together. It was very romantic, there is even a cake and ale (our case champagne) part of the ceremony that everyone gets involved in. This was fun, spiritual and intimate that suited the vibe of the day perfectly.
We wanted families to have fun and relax too, so hired a bucking bronco that went down a treat with guests and got some great photos on that! There was a hired white bouncy castle for kids and adults, that everyone had fun on. We had a giant tug of war, with a compulsory men vs women! Best of three tries! Haha. We had a refreshing constant ice cream cone machine, for kids and adults to help themselves through out the day! We also had some fun grouping up together, for some fabulous coloured smoke bomb pictures!! That had a festival feel to it, and looked very dramatic and effective on the day!
The food was fabulous and perfect for our casual informal style, we had a lovely range of canapés including cucumber, smoked salmon and cream cheese bites! A super Brazilian spicy barbecue, supplied by the fabulous Pig and Jacket. Then we had the Woodbox Pizza Van in the evening with lovely hot boxed pizzas, served fresh from an authentic Italian Citroen van.. that everyone devoured! Happily!
The drinks were beautiful, The Vintage Bar Box were very helpful. We had an awesome range of flavoured gins, all sorts of drinks served out of a quirky stylish horse box, and even did a super cool “pimp my prosecco” stand.
People could camp on site and bring their own tent, or go to a local hotel, or hire a bell tent. These looked so beautiful on the field, with the bunting over the doorways. People could even opt for luxury ones, to stay in for the night that had some furniture and lanterns in! So pretty!
In the morning, with a few sore heads we sat outside the tipi in the sunshine with a sausage or bacon roll served up with copious teas, coffees and orange juice. It was a lovely was to finish the event reflecting with our loved ones about the day and night before..
So many special touches, wonderful memories to keep!
YOUR PHOTOGRAPHER | We had a fabulous photographer, who was sociable with guests, and took some fabulous action shots of all the activities and helped set some group shots up with smoke bombs. She also took us off on our own for some romantic shots on our own. The pictures capture the fun, informal essence of the day, and the vibrancy of the colours we wanted in our festival.
THE MUSIC | The entertainment was a fabulous band, and then the excellent DJ Coolhand Luke , followed by a super fun silent disco that finished around 2am!!!
THE HONEYMOON | Cape Town, Johannesburg and Mujambe a tropical private island off Mozambique. Helicopter flown from the airport to Mujambe. It was paradise! Adventure, relaxation and luxury. Perfect! We even did a scuba dive!
MEMORABLE MOMENTS | People going on the bucking bronco and falling off, having such a laugh. The white bouncy castle and all the kids and adults loving it!
