Botanical Dark Green Velvet & Pampas Grass Wedding Ideas

The setting today is Espaço Caiado in Portugal, for a super stylish and very on trend set of wedding images. This shoot encapsulates all the key trends, bohemian styling, dark emerald green hues, pampas grass and metallic touches. The results are romantic, elegant, cool and dramatic.

Think beautiful pampas grass adorning the wooden pallet backdrop, brush stroke calligraphy sign and nestled in with proteas and foliage in the bridal bouquet. There was also stunning watercolour stationery, a bridal fedora hat, which worked perfectly with the bridal separates, succulents and cacti plus a dark and decadent cake.

Botanical Love

The “Botanical Love” styled shoot was born from a vision of a cozy and elegant winter wedding. Our main source of inspiration was luxurious dark green velvet.

The richness of the velvet took us to an era that reminded us of the Renaissance, with elegant and voluptuous ball gowns, chandeliers, candlesticks, and dark roses. However, the wedding world is already full of ball gowns and we wanted to give this session a modern twist. Also, having a winter wedding in a sunny, warmer country had us re-imagine what a winter wedding is, especially in milder climates. These were the main triggers for us to incorporate rose gold décor, a flowy dress with separates and lovely bridal accessories, which included a hat. We wanted a dreamy couple, in a dreamy scenery, almost whimsical but achievable to most brides. We do want to inspire real brides after all!

Our couple was a real unmarried couple. We wanted to capture the love in their eyes and that real first look when the groom sees his bride for the first time!
