Alternative couples, you are going to just adore this rocking, edgy and urban wedding ideas editorial today. Brought to us by State of Love and Trust behind the lens and the concept and styling by This Will Be Forever, along with a whole host of totally awesome suppliers I think these images and film will leave you feeling utterly inspired.
Where to begin but with the neon sign which was the perfect backdrop to the ceremony at Bustler Market, complete with tropical vibe florals and candles surrounding, it looked brilliant. It certainly added a real focal point to the shoot, with the modern cool cake display also setting up the vibe perfectly. There was live entertainment (do look out for the fire breathers!), super trendy attire, celestial accessories, unique stationery and gorgeous hair and make up. So incredible!

Neon, Glitter and Fire – This Will Be Forever
If you’re looking to plan a wedding which is full of fun surprises for your guests then you’re in the right place. This editorial shoot curated by This Will Be Forever has neon, glitter and fire breathers, which is sure to take your breath away and show you some ideas which would keep your guests talking about your big day for years to come.

The shoot took place at Bustler Market, a brand new venue just minutes from Derby City Centre. The flexible space was ideal for the urban-festival style; the raw details of the venue contrasting against bright neon, coloured stationery and bold florals. The ideal venue to fill with edgy details and perfectly captured by alternative wedding photographer State of Love and Trust.

The team opted to have a floral heavy concept. Peachy Phalaenopsis orchids, peonies, roses and bleached ferns filled the bouquets made by Dusky Blooms nodding to the current trends whilst making a statement. Soft custom silk ribbon in cornflower blue from Old Potting Shed emblazoned with ‘We were once strangers’ in pink fell from the bouquet- another way to inject your personal touches into your day.
In the ceremony area, Dusky Blooms used palms to fill large gabions, to match the large black grid to be used as a backdrop. Complimented by the striking hot pink neon from This Will Be Forever, the ceremony area felt intimate but had trend led design features.

The cakes and treats table created by Cherry Blossom Cakes was all about fun. The cakes were set at different heights on the palm filled gabions and black metal stands. Sugar bubbles, sprinkles, icing drips and meringue adorned the cakes and treats which were both bright and fun, setting the tone for the day.

The colours of the cakes complimented the hand painted Sylvie Signs x TWBF ‘This is it’ Sign painted with coral, pink and black enamel with moongold surface gilded outline.
To show how décor could be used more than once, the floral gabions were used as pedestals to display the cakes. By reusing the florals we were able to continue to create impact and provide further cohesion to the day after the ceremony had taken place. We really wanted to show that statement florals can be used multiple times during your day.

The Ultra Stylish bridal outfits came from Cicily Bridal and are from Rembo Styling and Charlie Brear. These modern bridal designers were perfect for the contemporary couple; whilst traditional in that they were white, the styling was fun and reflected the personality of the bride. The whole team were a little bit in love with the star emblazoned top of Rembo Styling’s ‘MoonWalker’. This together with a beautiful handpainted leather jacket from Mama Inc Studio, quirky disco Hat from Ripple and Flip and studded Jeffrey Campbell boots made for an alternative bridal look.

We went for an ‘undone’ bridal look with soft curls to show the brides pink hair and some Victoria Percival Flourish celestial hair slides. The soft smokey eye and dark pink lip was by Katie Morley Makeup Artist, complete with eyeliner it fitted the brides personal style and also goes to show you can look bridal without a classic English rose look.

We are hoping to inspire couples to fill their days with fun and do what they want to do and reflect their personal style during their day. If you want a great party and to surprise your guests, you may well be looking for exciting entertainment. Who wouldn’t want fire breathers at their wedding? Stilt walkers, disco balls, colourful cocktails and lots of sweet treats. DC2 Entertainment & Dance Co. put on a show which perfectly matched the fun atmosphere. The fire breathers definitely caught attention from the passing public and would be a great talking point for your wedding. They also helped make some incredible photos!

In the table area, we chose to use a simple set up to compliment the narrow picnic style tables of the venue, reminders of festivals and fun and allowing the colourful stationery by Chloe Ainsley Creative to really sing. A soft gypsophila cloud was hung from the metal roof and was lit by glimmering festoon lights. The relaxed settings were suited to the casual food, but offered small colour pops to break up the space and provide interest.
