Happy Sunday WWWers! We’re full swing into Autumn and all that it brings, the nights are drawing in (clock change today folks!), the leaves are turning and Halloween is on the horizon. So it’s just perfect timing to be sharing these sensational images by Emily Little Photography with you today. The vision for this shoot was autumnal retro wedding style and there are just so many wedding ideas packed in here. First up, I just love the colour palette of burgundy and orange, which oozes warmth and richness in these photographs. Then there are the spectacular florals, which are to die for, the incredible cake creations and exquisite stationery to name just a few.
R & F Weddings was on hand to plan and style the day and I think you will agree the tablescape complete with macramé backdrop is a real show stopping centrepiece. Furtho Manor Farm was the perfect setting for the shoot as it has some beautiful indoor and outdoor locations, which meant that the suppliers could go to town with the theme. There was also delicious food, gorgeous hair and make up, a glitter bar, statement furniture and seriously stylish attire. Oh yes!

This editorial shoot was focused on bringing together great local suppliers around the venue – Furtho Manor Farm. Curated by Emily Little Photography the inspiration for the shoot started with a classic mini. An original 1970’s Morris Mini in orange. There was something nostalgic that sparked an idea of a fun and retro style shoot full of warm autumnal tones of oranges and burgundy. The next addition of inspiration came from R and F weddings in the form of a couture jump suit from Gorgeous Couture, something that really gave the shoot it’s edge and cemented the look we were looking to achieve. This was no surprise as Vanessa and the team at R and F are synonymous with designing memorable events with flare and style. Vanessa and Hannah made sure the whole shoot ran smoothly and styled beautifully.

We really wanted to play particular consideration to this autumnal style colour palette as some of these tones are often overlooked when it comes to weddings. Being bold and confident with the colour palette and stepping outside of the comfort zones of blushes and pastels that we almost come to expect and associate with English weddings, the bold choice of orange hairpin legs on the reclaimed table by Outhouse really set the mood for the shoot and being confident and bold with our alternative choices and approach.

For the ceremony scenes the archway and signage was made out of locally sourced reclaimed materials by Outhouse and adorned with flowers from Gin House Flowers.

For the table scenes we asked Outhouse to work their magic on creating a reclaimed table treated with warm natural tones to contrast with the crockery and florals. The table had added wow factor with the hairpin legs powder coated in a vibrant orange. For an added retro feel we had one of My Off the Wall Designs stunning Macrame Backdrops an original work of art, Sarah used unbleached cotton rope for a natural look.
Our beautiful suite of stationery from The Little Craft Box was printed on handmade cotton rag paper with natural deckled edges, completed with luxe gold leaf embellishments and deep bordeaux envelopes and pouches. Texture was used to highlight the romance in the stationery, complimented with, fabric signage, natural wood and luxury velvet finishes to bring the tactile nature of stationery to life all accented with a hand written modern calligraphy with a timeless serif font.
Our stunning florals are by Lucy from the incredible Gin House Flowers! They included an eclectic mix of black fox dahlias, gorgeous chestnut spot panda orchids, echinacea purpurea, vip rose Kensington gardens, red hot pokers, butterflyweed, amaranthus, menthe and grevillea foliage and asparagus ferns. This amazing mix of flowers adorned the tables, ceremony archway, cakes, church, the mini and the most beautiful pocket square for Donn.

Towards the other end of the church we put together a cake display from the one and only Oh My Cakery, using the colour palette, Kirsty of Oh My Cakery worked her magic with dried fruit on not one but three show stopping cakes. All cakes are decorated with frosting, even the marble effect tier.

Our location, Furtho Manor Farm is a family run working farm based on the Buckinghamshire and Northamptonshire border just outside of Milton Keynes and is home to St Bartholomew’s Church which can be found in the grounds. We wanted to show off all the different areas around the site and the flexibility an outdoor/blank canvas wedding venue can offer you. Over looking a lake, the small gothic style church is believed to date back to the 1200’s. The team decided to add some details to this beautiful church including some pillar candles and flower arrangements by Gin House Flowers.

We also had The Rub BBQ come along for the shoot. Specialising in smoked foods, they rustled up whole mixture of their amazing wedding food, including some of their fantastic chicken wings, antipasti spreads and bbq serving boards.

Our models were a real couple, Catherine & Donn were absolute superstars and embraced the whole theme of the shoot, right down the Donn being adorned with glitter at the end of the day as the sun set. Catherine had hair and make-up by the brilliant Hannah Joy. Using natural tones it really made Catherine’s pink hair pop!

As the sun started to go down, we wanted to amp up the fun in the shoot a little more and Toni from Glamavan provided their eco friendly glitter bar. Using a mixture of biodegradable glitters and gems Catherine & Donn both had their own ‘his & hers’ glitter.

To mix it up we also included some evening shoes for Catherine from Morgan and Thread. Perfect for something a little different for your ceremony an evening outfit change. Catherine wore some personalised vans which were adorned with beads and flowers.
