There is just something so special about yurt weddings, these magical structures really bring a rustic vibe and a sense of cosiness all round. So I am just thrilled to be sharing Owain and Lucy’s wedding today, which was held at Fron Farm Yurt Retreat in Wales on the 5th October 2019. Their day was super fun, with a relaxed atmosphere and plenty of personal touches. Think vintage Ford MKII Escort, beautiful blooms and car influenced detail such as the number plate table names.
I have to say Lucy looked stunning in her beaded high neckline gown and tulle veil, while Owain donned brown check tweed and burgundy chinos with a floral bow tie. Didn’t they look amazing?! Just wait until you see the cute bridesmaid outfits, they wore floral skirts and deep red jumpers. So stylish… All the autumn vibes.
Cat Arwel Photography, thank you ever so much for sharing with us these utterly gorgeous images.

It was a very personal proposal. Went away to ‘Stow on the Wold’ in the Cotswolds for a couple of nights to celebrate our 1-year anniversary. The morning of 3rd November, 2018 Owain ventured out to get fresh croissants and the best take away coffee in the village for breakfast, whilst I (Lucy) was getting ready for the day. He rung me to say breakfast was ready and to come down stairs where he had set everything out on the patio table. As I sat down, he gave me a bouquet of roses. As he knows me inside out, he said, “I know you like everything in 3s (as it’s my lucky number) but they only had 5 red roses”. I was so chuffed and thanked him without thinking anymore of it…and then he knelt on one knee with an extra red rose and a beautiful engagement ring hanging from the stem and said, “Here’s the 6th. Will you marry me?”. I swore. I cried. I was ecstatic!

We love the outdoors – pit fires, S’mores, walks on the beach, picnics, shooting, car rallying… We always said if we ever got married, it would be low key and quite personal. We wanted to tie everything in to our big day.
We had 11 months to plan! Nearly everything that was out there was too big and glamorous which really wasn’t us. BUT, we found this little gem of a location and fell in love with everything about it. The planning process was stress free and fun. We both enjoyed picking and choosing what we wanted. We HAD to put our own stamp on everything so that it meant so much more to us.

My Mother (Jayne Thomas) baked a 3-tier fruit cake. She does the best fruit cake EVER!!!

‘Fron Farm’ had already put the Yurts up and the lighting so Owain and I decorated the place with flowers (bucket of seasonal flowers that we had from our florist and 2 bouquets we bought from good old ‘Tesco’), extra fairy lights, candles, signs, blankets, Persian rugs, Owain’s creative masterpiece of ‘Mr & Mrs’, suitcases, number plate style as our table number, S’mores as our favours etc.
