Emma and Adam’s destination wedding in Crete was utterly beautiful and they described their day to me as “life affirming“. Wow! They were married at CostAnita in Greece on the 20th October 2019 with a vision of a wedding day which enabled pure escapism whilst being filled with love.
They added simple yet striking touches to their day with a spectacular outdoor ceremony set up, think far reaching views, a pampas grass and greenery moon gate flower arch and rug adorned aisle. Oh my. Their reception was also held outdoors and they added lemons, laser cut place names, delicious buttercream cake and stylish stationery. On to the outfits, which really were very stylish. Emma wore a fit and flare gown with delicate flower crown while Adam opted for a mix and match blazer, chinos, tan shoes and open collar shirt. Didn’t they look amazing?!
I cannot thank Me and Georgia Photography enough for sharing with us these sensational images of a really special wedding day.

After 3 years of living together when we were out for a country walk one day we agreed that it was a perfect time for us to solidify our commitment to each other. Walking home, we went into a local jewellers and bought a simple yellow sapphire ring. We went home, exchanged a few words to each other about how much we meant to each other and what we wanted to achieve in this life together and why we felt marriage was important to us, then made it official. We bought a nice bottle of champagne, put on some music and danced the night away together.

An event with our friends and family; filled with love and hope and happiness. An escape for the real problems we face now in our society. To take some time off from trying to trying to save the world to just enjoy being alive and having each other.
Spending months on Pinterest and having a great time organising Greek people!

Emma’s cousins Taverna in Alymrida, Crete called ‘CostAnita’. A place we have visited on vacation for years to spend time with our family and reconnect with nature. We feel deeply connected to the culture of the place; the way they respect their ecosystems and families and community. A place for reflection and rejuvenation.

None! Weddings are too expensive!

The whole thing.

Ignore the expectations. We did it our way. We ignored a lot of traditional and norms because they were damaging to the environment or weren’t helping us focus on what was most important; to focus on love and life and happiness. Do it your way.
