Happy Saturday folks! We are joined by Casey and Devin today with their Socal wedding held on the 12th October 2019 in the backyard of Casey’s parents home. Their day was so full of joy, love and personality. From the crystals and tarot reader to the custom neon sign and first look, it was all so personal.
I really love the home-made macramé backdrop it looked stunning framing their emotional outdoor ceremony. It looked really striking decked out with flowers and the pampas grass lined aisle, boho wedding perfection! Talking of boho, how stunning was Casey’s lacy gown?! While Devin opted to wear velvet, so stylish!
They dined outdoors, with festoon lights glimmering come evening not to mention a photo booth, drinks truck and sparklers entertaining everyone. Huge thanks goes to Mark Mirocha Photography for sharing with us these super beautiful captures.

It’s cliche, but I have dreamt of getting married since I was a young girl. My wedding aesthetic has changed over the years but once I landed on the perfect vibe it morphed into my perfect wedding. I wanted a fall vintage boho vibe that was unique and true to us as a couple. I wanted to be involved in every aspect of the planning from picking the perfect color scheme to the necessities (like the restroom trailers haha). I’m so proud of how the day turned out because I put my heart and soul into every detail.

I wanted a timeless dress that made me feel posh and royal but still have that boho look. I fell in love with my quarter sleeve full lace dress. I paired my dress with a beautiful golden crown adorned with quartz crystals. I wore the most comfortable white booties. I wanted shoes that were classy, comfy, and could be worn in the backyard.

Finding a venue that checked all the boxes was hard for us. In the end we decided to do a backyard wedding at my parents home. This made it so personal and unique which I loved.

We greeted guests with some homemade love potion. During our engagement celebration dinner I got a drink called love potion it was a mix of my favorite, grapefruit and gin. We recreated this by making a custom label, reusing kombucha bottles that we had been saving for a year, and adding a cork to the top! It was such a fun welcome drink to kick off the night and a great take home too!
The aisle was lined in vintage rugs and each seat was adorned with a packet filled with dried flower confetti, order of events, and a tissue packet to dry all of those happy tears!
At the end of the aisle was our pride and joy project! I hand knotted the macrame while Devin created the copper stand. It was one of my first macrame projects and I was so proud of it!
During cocktail hour we had a tarot card reader sharing the guests fortunes and a fun photo booth all night! I wanted a true photo booth where you can sit inside and have privacy to make all the funny faces you can dream up! Throughout the years of dating Devin and I would always stop into photo booths and snap a pic so we wanted that to live on at our wedding too. It’s a fun momento to take home and we got to see the gallery when it was done!
For the seating chart I found a rusty metal sheet on my parents property so we attached it to wood backing and used magnets to hold up the colorful paper signs. I loved how the amber shades of rust moved through the metal.
On the tables for the reception I put out disposable cameras for the guests to snap some shots. It ended up that the kids went around and took photos of the wedding it was so fun to see the wedding from their view. We had enough photos to send some in our thank you notes! I had some custom cootie catchers made too! A fun icebreaker for each table. One had fun facts about Devin and I, the other had dad jokes, and the last had conversation starter questions. It was fun to see everyone play with them! Our take home gifts were smudge kits. I had custom match boxes made bundled with palo santo, selenite, and hand foraged dried flowers tied around with a seed paper tag that said thank you. My mom collected vintage glassware, plates and gold cutlery for all the tables. It was magical seeing the colors or amber, blue and green on all of the tables.
For dessert we served our guests vegan donuts from our favorite local donut shop! They are delicious with fresh blueberries on top. We had a personalized cake made just for cutting. We were inspired by a shag rug for all the icing texture and the colors matched our flowers/invitations.
Once the sun fell and the full moon came out to play our custom made neon sign shined bright! We had the custom neon sign made that says ‘everything’s groovy’ which is always our motto to live by. We then had a custom wallpaper printed the size of the back board and hung the neon on top. It was such a fun custom piece that we will hang in our home!
