Pretty Floral-Filled Autumn Halloween Wedding

Halloween weddings don’t just have to have a gothic wedding theme, they can be pretty too. Feidhlim and Kaye are with us to demonstrate just that with their floral-filled Autumn wedding held on the 31st October 2019 at Tullylagan House Hotel in Northern Ireland.

Their day was ever so gorgeous, with opulent, seasonal flower arrangements to die for. I especially love the flower arch and the sweet pumpkins filled with blooms for their centrepieces. Feidhlim and Kaye both looked incredible, hello lacy gown and check suit!

Autumn Halloween Wedding

The Proposal

18.03.2017 – Feidhlim and I went to Dublin for St Patrick’s weekend, I was unaware of anything. We went for a beautiful lunch and shortly after we went for a drink in The Shelbourne Hotel. Feidhlim said to me will we walk around St Stephens Green after and so we walked and then Feidhlim got down on one knee and proposed to me in the most cutest bandstand with a stunning Tiffany& Co ring. Of course I said yes straight away with tears of joy and shock! We couldn’t wait to tell all our family and friends the good news. Dublin will always have a special place in our hearts.

The Vision

Feidhlim and I love Halloween and Autumn so it was clear from when we sat down to start planning it was going to be then, and we set our date for actual Halloween. We are so proud how our special day turned it was such a special day.

The Planning Process

Feidhlim and I loved all the planning, shortly after we got engaged and stopped all the celebrations we sat down and talked about all what we wanted and discussed numbers etc.

We then went and looked at venues we loved Tullylagan Country House Hotel when we viewed it and it didn’t take long for us to book it as we fell in love with it. (When you know, you know!) After that we had a tick list and got all sorted within a couple of months. Once we found a supplier we loved we booked them as the good ones can be booked up way in advance.

Before we knew it we had the chapel, celebrant, venue, wedding music, flowers, photography, band, cars, video and beauty and hair booked.

Your Outfits & Accessories

I had two wedding dresses my first dress was from Pronupia Bridal Belfast and the designer was Ronald Joyce, I just fell in love with it as soon as I tried it on. And knew it was ‘THE ONE’. It was a gorgeous champagne colour, I sourced the veil to match on Etsy. My shoes to match the dress was by Jimmy Choo and my earrings were made bespoke for me by Black and SIGI jewellery who I found via Instagram. It was so special to be able to find them.

My evening gown was a vintage gown which I bought when I was in London for the weekend. Unfortunately I don’t remember the name of the shop I purchased it in. I wore an embellished head piece in the evening to match my dress it was from Orchid Studio Bridal Shop Portadown.

Feidhlim’s outfit was from Tux and Tails in Dungannon. He choose a stunning three piece burgundy check suit by House of Cavani with a blush pink tie and white shirt accompanied by Cavani navy shoes. He wore rose golf cufflinks from Newbridge Sliverware and tie pin to match and a Hublot watch.

Beauty

Groomsmen

The best man, groomsman, brother of the bride and father of the groom also got their outfits from Tux and Tails Dungannon.

They were navy three piece suits with blush pink ties, white shirts and had burgundy Cavani shoes to match. Set off by stunning buttonhole flowers by Kathryn at The Posy Barn.

Bridesmaid

I had my Sister Orla as my Maid of Honour and we found her stunning dress from Petticoat Lane Bridal Hillsborough.

It was a blush pink floor length gown by Dessy Group. Her shoes where from Dune, earrings and bracelet from Newbridge Silverware and in her hair was fresh flowers by Kathryn at The Posy Barn.

The Readings & Music

Our chapel music was by Crannagh Wedding music.

Entrance was ‘Pachchels Canon in D’ I still get goosebumps when I hear it.

We had various other songs at our wedding and these included Runaway by The Coors and Run by Snow Patrol at the signing of the register.

On leaving the recreational piece was “Everlasting Love” by Love Affair which is a favourite of the both of us. Was so lovely to be able to start out new life of to a song that means so much to us.

The Flowers

Ahhh the flowers! The flowers were wonderful and one of the things that so many people commented on, especially looking back at the photos.

I always followed Kathryn’s beautiful work on Facebook and Instagram and loved everything she created. Feidhlim and I met with her and just knew she would create the most show-stopping flowers. I will never forget her driving up to my house that morning and coming with our bouquets, the flower girls crowns and gorgeous floral hoops. I had a charm picture attached of my late Father Paddy to my bouquet which was comforting knowing he was close to me on the day.

I was just blown away and when I was driven to the chapel and seen the flowers outside I done a wee happy dance as it was everything I hoped for – the floral arch of dreams.

She really made the day with autumnal flowers and attention to detail. I still get people stopping me saying about the flowers till this day on how breathtaking they were.

Your Photographer

Hannah was one of the first suppliers we had booked after our venue, Chapel and celebrant as I loved her work for years and always knew I wanted her to capture our special day. Hannah is just a rare soul with a talent that the world deserves to see. As soon as I met to discuss the wedding with her it was clear I was deciding on the best. Her passion and warm personality sparkled through that day. Hannah managed to get every moment captured perfectly with Feidhlim and I not noticing her around. All the little details on the morning of the wedding, from the laughs and tears to the small intimate moments. We beamed from ear to ear when we received our pictures. All the beautiful moments shared by us, our family and friends treasured forever.

The Details & Décor

As being Halloween there were many small details and items slotted around the venue by us which were Halloween related.

Our stunning flowers from the Chapel were transferred to the venue and beautifully placed around to make the venue feel autumnal. The flower filled pumpkins which were used in the chapel and the lanterns were placed on all the tables and stood out beautifully.

I had made personalised candles with our names on and date of the wedding. I placed these all around the venue.

We made a large trick or treat table with different ranges of sweet and savoury treats for our guests and children in Halloween buckets with more Halloween props, which we bought from a range of stores. Home Bargains, B&M, The Range and TK Maxx.

Our tables at the wedding were named after fireworks in keeping with the Halloween theme.

We had our talented friend Christine draw the illustrations of the fireworks for the tables and placed them into photo frames. They really stood out on the tables beside the pumpkins, dried pine cones, conkers and dried leaves which we scattered on the tables the night before and around the venue.

For the favours we made small envelopes of wildflower seeds to allow our guests to remember our day when their flowers bloom each year.

The Honeymoon

We both went to Venice for 5 nights and when we returned home we went for a beautiful relaxing spa break for 2 nights to the Galgorm Resort and Spa in Ballymena N.Ireland.

Memorable Moments

That moment when we both walked down the aisle as Husband and Wife. The start of our new adventure together, it was the most surreal feeling.

Advice For Other Couples

Give yourself as much time as possible in advance to plan and book as many dates can be booked up quickly.

But most importantly prioritise what’s important to the both of you as it’s your special day and no one else’s.
