Welcome to the relaxed tipi wedding of Amy and Matt, who were hitched on the 12th September 2020. Firstly they were married in a church ceremony with a live stream for their guests who could not be there due to COVID-19. They then had a gorgeous tipi reception at Overgrown Acres in Nottinghamshire.
I love how laid back about their celebrations they were and after they rearranged their date they reassessed what was important to them both. It was all about getting married! Their day was mostly held outdoors, with twinkling lights, a fire pit and pizza. Sounds pretty amazing right? That’s because it totally was. I’m pretty sure you will be left swooning over their wedding styling and all the outfits too.
Twig and Vine Photography thank you ever so much for sharing these utterly divine images.

Matt planned the perfect evening. We went out for a lovely tapas meal followed by cocktails at one of our favourite bars – a local jazz bar where we had one of our very first dates. It’s a special place to us as it’s where we also decided to move in together! Matt surprised me by proposing with a Haribo ring (Matt is known to all of his friends and family as Haribo!) The next day he took me ring shopping where we picked out a beautiful ring together.
We used #HARIBOWEDDING on all of our wedding stationery!
We were only weeks away from our planned wedding when lockdown happened. We postponed to the next available date in September but as the new date approached and we realised restrictions on numbers would be in place we decided to change the whole wedding! We changed the venue and date and had to reduce the guest list to a quarter of the people we had originally invited! So our vision in the end wasn’t quite what we had planned but we made do with what we already had!
As we had such a small number of people at the wedding we wanted a really relaxed laid back day. We loved the idea of being outside so the venue was perfect and we couldn’t have asked for better weather. We ended up all sitting round a fire pit, toasting marshmallows and singing along to music, which was perfect under all the fairy lights! We even got pizza delivered in the evening!
We were married at St Edmonds Church in Holme Pierrepont (where Amy’s parents married many years ago!). Followed by a small reception at Overgrown Acres in Tollerton.

Amy’s dress was from local dress shop – The Bridal Suite. It was a Sottero and Midgley dress. It was an ivory satin fitted dress with beaded fringing and a low back. I am a huge shoe lover so wanted something a little less “traditional” when it came to shoes – they were pink leather sandals with a large frill.
Matt and the groomsmen wore suits from Next with pink bow ties and floral pocket squares matching to the page boys shirts and the floral pattern on all our wedding stationery.
We married in St Edmonds Church with our closest friends and family. The ceremony was perfect and we were able to live stream the service to all our friends and family who were unfortunately unable to join us.

Our cake was made by a friend of the family. Bridal and bridesmaid bouquets were arranged by Marie at Fruits of the Florist – they were a beautiful mix of dusty pink roses and greenery.
We arranged all of the rest of the décor and set up the venue ourselves with the help of our friends and families. Amy’s Dad helped to make lots of the signs etc. On the tables we arranged the flowers ourselves in our favourite gin and whisky bottles. Table names were polaroid pictures of places that are special to us. We put little jars of Haribo rings on the tables and handmade clay heart name places.

We had planned an amazing 2 week trip to Sri Lanka but unfortunately, it is on hold due to Covid!
Matt’s best man was unable to make the wedding due to restrictions as he lives in Dubai. He arranged a video of his best man’s speech, which was really lovely to watch.
Enjoy every moment as the day flies by! Due to the situation with coronavirus this year and all the changes we had to make, it really put into perspective for us what was actually important and that was simply to get married! Although it would have been amazing to celebrate the day with all of our family and friends with us we are so glad we decided to go ahead this year.

Just so idyllic. And proof that micro weddings are oh so special.
A massive thank you to Amy and Matt for sharing their relaxed tipi wedding, what a treat!
