What a treat I have for you today. The seriously stylish and super happy backyard woodland wedding of Christina and Kyle! They were hitched on the 19th September 2020 in Maryland in the US, after rearranging their 300-guest wedding due to COVID-19. With a smaller guest list, they relocated to a backyard setting and it was just glorious.
Their bohemian festival style day looked so much fun. The outfits just have to be my favourite thing, everyone looked so cool. Then there was the macrame ceremony arch and the longest wedding table ever. Just awesome!
A&M Photography thank you so much for sharing these utterly mesmerising images with us.

Originally we’d planned to have a 300-person wedding with a bohemian festival vibe in Kyle’s parents’ backyard, which is basically an open field. The colour theme for that day, back in May, was going to be blush and muted earth tones.
After postponing 4 months, we realized that 300-person wedding wasn’t going to happen this year. We downscaled the guest list to 50 of our closest friends and requested that everyone get a COVID test in lieu of giving wedding gifts, because we are most definitely huggers. We relocated the wedding to my (Christina’s) parents’ backyard. With this new setting, surrounded by woods, I envisioned a whimsical, fairyland wedding, giving me an excuse to dye my hair pink and create a new colour palette with all the colours of the rainbow. Our childhood best friends Leigh and Michael, who are married to each other, officiated our wedding in matching velvet jungle-patterned blazers…it was perfection.
Fortunately, all of our original vendors were available on this new date, so we were able to keep the relaxed vibe of the original wedding. Although the temperature dropped to below 50 once the sun set, our incredible DJ kept the dancefloor packed until he had to pack up close to midnight. My dad built an amazing covered bar, which, with the help of heaters and unlimited booze, kept the party going until after 4am. Another advantage of having a backyard wedding is there are no time limits! We’ve been reminiscing about that day and night every day since. It exceeded our expectations of what a wedding could be in 2020 and was a gentle reminder that we could still have fun and celebrate our love, family, and friends.
